I want to start tuning my cars transmission ratios better and ive heard people say theres like a perfect power band spot for every gear and ect.. but idk how to tune each gear ratio of anything

how do i do this?

and if it helps im using a 787b so 5 gears... and if you have a tune for the 787b plz say the transmission tune.....i would like to go about 220-230

0) Reset to default
1) Final Drive all way to right
2) Max Speed all way to left
3) 1st gear ratio all way to left
4) 5th gear ratio all way to right
5) Space gear ratios 2-4 evenly,
6) Adjust Final drive till you get the required top speed in top right hand corner.

When Spacing the ratios evenly it should look something like this;

l l l l l
l l l l
l l l
l l
l

If you still dont get it just ask.

That doesn't make the gears even, that just makes the bars for the gears in the game even. I'm talking about the bars where the actual ratios are, not the bar graph at the top. If you want an even transmission you have to calculate out the rpm drops when upshifting, not simply by a bar.

How do u calculate the gears?

because ive been told to go to people
s tunes but thing is they all get turbo's and a lot of bs... so no help that or there set ups are for like 150 mph cars and dont work when u turn up the final gear

What I posted above is a quick an easy solution to getting a good transmission setup.

If you want to learn everything there are a number of threads in this forum.

What I do is:

Find the RPM of peak power, then add 300rpm.
Find the RPM where there is more power than your last point.
Find the percent of the second point to the first point I.e. 4000/5000=80%
Select a first gear ratio I.e. 3.000
Multiply by your percent to get your next gear and repeat multiplication.
If this does not give you enough top speed for the track, pick a new first gear.
