I guess after Tron: Legacy, there had to be another film to explore all the horrible ways the game-to-world connection could be exploited.

I haven't been this excited about a new film in a long time, actually. Remember the original thread? https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/tron-legacy-80s-geeks-rejoice.118510/

Even if the plot is full of holes and stinks as a story, I'm totally fine with Disney making films with amazing visuals that are just art pieces for the soundtrack or score. I still listen to Daft Punk's tracks for the last flick. This time, NIN are at the reigns. Should be really good.

It's a pretty safe bet that David Warner won't be in it, sadly :(

Let's hope Tron: Ares doesn't turn out to be Tron: Arse...

Must admit, I’m looking forward to it too.

I can recommend “Blood Machines” if you’ve never seen it.

Yeah, I have everything from Carpenter Brut. Maybe I'll take back what I said before, though. I'm good with just his soundtrack and could have skipped the awful movie.

Is Tron really relevant anymore? I heard the original movie (which I would indeed like to see sometime) was mostly novel in its use of SFX and how PCs were a relatively nascent technology at the time.

That’s what makes Tron relevant. Watch the first two back to back. Good stuff!
