TrueForce in Logitech GPro Wheel No Longer Working Since 1.57

As any Logitech GPro (and G923?) users have probably discovered, the TrueForce within the wheel has sporadically stopped working since 1.57. The only consistent that I've seen is it works in qualifying but not in Sport Mode races. Some users have said it works in lobbies where others (myself included) have experienced it working, to not working, to going back to working depending on how many people are in the lobby.

Wanted to open this thread to get your experiences and make sure PD is aware (not that this will make them aware but maybe someone knows one way or the other) that they've all but killed off the feeling in many of their users' wheels days before the official GTWS is about to start. Maybe @LOGI_Rich has updates, or can keep us updated on any hopeful progress/updates from PD coming down the pike.

I really really really hope PD are aware and are going to make this right asap due to the GTWS races if nothing else.

ETA - Link to another thread when the TF in the wheel was Nerfed big time. I feel this go around is completely different, though, as it just completely stops working and there doesn't seem to be much a rhythm or reason why.

Haven’t driven it yet since the update, this is very disappointing to hear. We didn’t even get much in the update it’s crazy it broke things. A few unwanted cars and Sophy in custom race. Wow.. game updates

Just stumbled over your thread.
And actually it's not just that Logitech is affected.
Today my Buddy B. B-Shrimp came over to my lobby.
He is using a Thrustmaster TGT2.
Yesterday all was fine during our races.
Today he had no Vibrations.

Yep a user that has TGT2 has reported the same. I raced with them tonight, first time driving since the update. It’s pretty bad and super noticeable when you don’t have trueforce. Wheel feels lifeless. You just can’t win with these updates it seems.

Hey everyone. Just wanted to chime in here as well as I spent a good amount of time yesterday doing mostly single player custom races with Sophy. Trueforce was working there (I know most are having issues in public lobbies/sport mode) but it felt a tad muted but at the same time "gritty" as someone else mentioned in a different thread. I usually run my wheel ffb filter at max (15?) to minimize that grittiness.

I drive with all assists off except for ABS on weak but it almost felt like countersteer assistance and possibly some others were also engaging.

I know @LOGI_Rich already made PD aware of the Trueforce issues but maybe they can also look into other assists possibly kicking in even when they're off?

My wheel and game settings for reference:

Strength: 11
TF Audio: 100
FFB Filter: 15
Dampenger: 20 (I mess with this as I try to minimize the jerkiness of the wheel over bumps without having to turn down force)

In-Game
Max Torque: 5-6 (sometimes higher for SF19/23 or some road cars)
FFB Sensitivity 1-3 (depending on car)

Hopefully PD gets this straightened out!

Interesting because I raced today and thought, it’s a bit weak but idk… I was in custom races. Last night I raced in lobbies and it was crap.

What did you feel was weak? The TF rumble?
Yes. That’s what I’d describe. Normally my wheel has more vibration to it on curbs and stuff or even just driving down a straight. In multiplayer lobby, it’s like a big portion of FFB vibration was missing, wheel felt like a lot of the time it wasn’t on unless it was tire scrubbing.

In custom race and some single player it seemed better. I have vibration maxed out, they had done some update and I felt I needed to crank that compare to how it was before. It’s like they nerfed trueforce, used to be at like 60-70. Now it’s 150 max.

Had a league race tonight 44 laps Road Atlanta GR.3 Renault.. as soon as Three or more people join my wheel goes mute(T-GTII) i left the room and rejoined and all of my functions were back. Someone had to go change oil though when they came back my wheel went mute… The wheel feels really good so when it goes mute while you can still feel feedback the sensation you get from the inducers are critical and not having it destroys the experience.

Same for a TGT II. FFB stop working properly since 1.57 Update. This is anoying. In the qualify of daylis it works, but after starting the race, gone. In lobbies, the same, FFB is gone.

I'm G923 user, and since 1.57 update I've lost all vibration and trueforce on Sport Mode. I was progressing in ranking very well this weak, but with this issue, is impossible to race because you loose all the feeling of the car. It's so sad! Please Polyphony solve this quickly.🙏

If they haven't solved it in the last 2 days after the update, it might be because it's very complex, which i doubt, or it's not urgent for them, it's the week end... so maybe next week.

Usually with PD they have zero communication or even any official acknowledgement of a problem, which is unfortunate for us. Even a simple, "hey, we realize there's a FFB issue with X and Y brand wheels and we are working on a correction." would be nice.

My only glimmer of hope this will be fixed soon is that the official GTWS starts in literally a few days. I have some blind faith in PD they won't let this issue overlap the GTWS season as it will have a huge impact on a large portion of the playerbase.

There was an update a while back that killed Fanatec FFB or something like that. Does anyone recall how long it took them to fix that?

At first I thought it felt weaker after this update so I bumped in-game controller vibration up to 150 to test and it was (to me) too much rumble so I went back down to 120 where I normally have it. This was in single player/custom races though, I haven't done any online races since the update. I believe they fixed the previous nerf of TF when we almost had to put it to 150 to have decent rumble.

Did a little dig through previous posts. Looks like it started back at the end of July and fixed around February.

Well everybody has their preferences, not everyone runs the Logitech recommended. For awhile we had to max out torque, I’m at 7 now, some are at 10 which is much too strong for me on a lot of cars.

I’d prefer it being back to having lots of headroom. There was a time you didn’t even have to go over 100. Like I said I was maybe at 60ish so not sure what happened that caused a lot of people to need to crank it way up. It’s as if we had a stereo and 3/4 on the volume knob was about as loud as we could go, could push it a little further if you wanted but now we crank it full and that’s all it’s got and leaves a bit to be desired.

If it’s the most recent saga I can recall- update 1.55 I think?- @newmedia_dev posted a couple of videos of his wheel making some pretty horrible motions and sounds. It was interesting enough that I kept an eye on the situation even without having a Fanatec. IIRC it wasn’t fixed until the next monthly update. That would be my expectation here, but my hope is with you that GTWS will matter. A sliver of hope only though, and it’s dying by the day.

With Fanatec as you say there was a lowering of FFB a while back and another issue where the wheel would disconnect. I remember Kie25 having this issues for many days, if not a couple of weeks, but it wasn't something that left the wheel useless as it is now with Logitech, if I remember correctly.

Oh, I agree. I'm just pointing out that PD definitely changed some stuff and a lot of settings feel off now. I would love to use the full force of the wheel (or at least more of it) without the crazy jerking back and forth on even the slightest bumps, and not to mention the oscillation with high downforce cars at higher speeds (typically above 180mph). Those are what I've been trying to tune out via settings but nothing seems to work other than either adding a lot of damper which then makes changing steering directions feel slower or lowering torque in game which kind of defeats the purpose of having an 11nm wheel and using about 6-7nm.

I run on 7 torque and it’s strong on some tires and not on others but I have been surprised and almost broke a wrist. I’d like it a little less drastic, I think it was a car that I got into a four wheel drift/slide and then it just hooked up for some reason and the FFB strength came back strong!

I’m not sure why there’s soooooooo much difference between different cars, tires and downforce. Weight might even play a factor too I’m not sure.

It's not the first time PD place an update and create issues on some wheels. I don't think they test 100% an update, they wait for players reports in case something goes wrong and then investigate how they have to fix it.

Haha, yeah, that has happened to me too. I do like 6-7 for certain car/tire combos. SF cars I like to run at 8-10 due to lower downforce at lower speeds but once you get going and hit some high speed corners, the ramp up of grip/downforce feels awesome.

And this is why I think PD is pissing people off, a lot of us spend more time dialing in our hardware to a happy medium for many different cars and then they go and change it. I would like to spend less time tinkering and more time racing!

Some time ago they used to post those "known issues" notes a few days after each update that at least let the players know that they were aware and working on it. It was a nice thing from PD.

I dont remember when was the last issue aknowledge that I read from them and is not like we are not having any more issues  . They stopped informing and who knows why.

I wouldnt bet a cent on a fix before the next GTWS.
On the contrary, I think they will work on this after the series.
