trust joystick to gear shifter

hello racers!

well...

after dubbing a while, i decided to open mij joystick. And make it a shifter!

i used the program: H virtual shifter. but after i did this, my joystick had a very stupid resistance, so every time i pulled my joystick to a gear, it just shot back to the middle.

So, opened my joystick, got the spring of. And it the joystick stood were it was.

but.... there is absolutely no resistance! nether force feedback,

so the question for the people is:...

Does anyone know how to get it more realistic? i mean, my joystick can go to al the sides, so from the 4th gear, i just go to the right, and there is the R gear, without going to the middle etc. is there any way to get it more realistic?

can i build a force feedback or something? i'm a real d.i.y so no need to worry about!

Make a plate for the shifter to follow as this does.

cool. that looks nice! And the spring, mabey i can put the spring back, but make it a little bit shorter?

As long as it doesn't want to reset to the neutral position, you should be right. 👍
