Tsukuba 9h bug. Thanks PD!

I think i ve tried almost everything to suspend this race with the x2010.
(I know x2010 is bad... But its my last race before lvl 40...)

I ve never succeeded to resume it. The last thing i can test, to be able to resume the race as it would, is to do the pit&save when there s no fuel left. Then, on resume, maybe the car will enter the pits as the entry speed will be "controlled".

Anyway, i was hoplessly trying to calculate how many hours it would take to finish the race and i ve just realized that the time needed to complete this race has dropped -> from 5h30
average lap time of 33.xxx s including pit stops, 40 laps per stints, 570 laps total

-> To 3h37
Avg lap time 33.xxx s during 3h37 = 372 laps +
Bob : average speed of 76kph to balance the AI crashes & bumps during the rest = 198 laps.

So the race is 2h shorter and we dont even need to come back to do the final lap.

In a few words : thanks bob!

I don't understand, is this A-Spec and are you saying that you can't figure out how to enter the pit lane at the appropriate speed with a X2010?

Or is it a B-Spec race and it's your Bob the one unable to brake to pit entry speed?

Yes a-spec.

After 10 tries, i can suspend the race (even by entering the pits before the pit entry -grass- at 20kph) when i resume the race, it goes full throttle and miss the pit entry.
ie the classical endurance/save bug on Tsukuba.

After disapointment, i ve realized that it is in fact a "good" thing. As the racing time is shortened and the constraint to be back in order to finish the last lap has disappeared.

This is a real endurance glitch! Not just an annoying bug. ;-)

But you do know you can't enter the pits cutting through the grass don't you? This is valid for the X2010 or any other car that I know of.

You must enter the pit-entry paralel lane BEFORE the last corner even starts (end of the back straight)

Well, under recommendation from another user I managed to beat this glitch. (if you wanted to)

-Hold an elsatic band that is holding in the analogue stick in the right direction
-Hold the break button down as hard as possible.

And you can get lucky and resume your race normally. Give it a shot, worked for me. 👍

When I said grass, I meant the grass before the pit entry. Even by going from the air-pin to the pit entry in the grass at 20kph, so I'm sure I won't miss the entry by an inch... It fails every time.

Beside that, just before that I did the 4h roadster, did it in 3 times and i never had any problem.

I read the post about the 0.0000001s when you might have control. I ve read it worked for some people but not for me.
But you ve tried it with a ds3. I was doing it with a wheel. I will try the ds3 with my last save.

If it doesn't work, I ll go for this 3h30 race and I ll be done with it by tomorrow morning.

This glitch makes the 9h in x2010 just as long as the 4h in Mazda :-)

My mind is so prolific with this event that I really consider seeing a shrink lol

I think the 3h30 barrier can be broken on this race.

My recipe for a 9h race reduce to 3h :

1- Race for 3h10,( I think 3h should do it though... But it would be ultra tight)
2- Pit : full tank, hard tires.
3- On the exit lap, re-pit,
4- suspend the race
5- exit the game
6- resume the game
7- Turn the tv off, go to sleep...

Gold when you wake up.

So, now that the excitement has gone away about this race, here is the summary of my evening.

I came back from work early in order to blow this race in 1 evening. At 7pm, time to start the game...

I tried to retrieve my previous save with the ds3 but it didnt work. So all I had to do was to restart it..... again!

The prediction i made was almost good. My average lap time is 35 s including pit stop.

I decided to do 3 sets of 3 stints of 40 laps. Then I would be at 360 laps and it would need only 180 laps to bob in order to complete the race.

On my outlap I normally should have pit, save, resume and leave it alone...
But I noticed that for the first time in the race, I had a free track everywhere except on the beginning if the 2 straights. So i decided to go for an extra stint just to have a chance to beat my current lap record of 30.04x s.

Note that the opponents pattern on the track (where they are when you overtake them) almost remain the same throughout the stint.

Bad luck after 5 laps, I was a little bit generous over the grass and spun....

Anyway, I finished the 40 laps, pit, repit&save, resume the game...

For the first time in my Tsukuba x2010 experience, when I want the bug to happen, it doesn't! I can now resume my race normally.

Now I have a hard choice to make, do the classical "550 laps & park" pattern or try to prove a point by letting bob do the job.

Lvl 40 is knocking at my door and is only 1h20 (140 laps) from here so....… I think a reasonable choice is the best.

It would be nice if someone can test it one day though...

My question why use a X2010? This isnt a LAP race. just find a fast enough car where you can drive it. While yes it does make the laps go quick but still.

I've done the 24h le mans in a classic way with 3 friends in 1 day (but not on my account), we made it as challenging as possible. Some of my friends were competitive, but some weren't.
We won with only a 2 laps advantage.
Every other endurance race (except 24h Nurburg which we plan to do in a few months), I did it with a normal car.

Concidering the fact that I just did the 4h roadster 1 day before starting the 9h, and that the XP gained in this race would allow me to reach lvl40. I just wanted it to be as fast as possible.

So why not drive for 4-5h on a track that is boring as hell without having to drive the full 9h...
