TT Supersport Championship Stage 1

So what is the approx. time I'm looking to attain with a 600cc RM at Suzuka. I watched your vid 750, you're freaking awsome at this track! Oh, and by the way, my first bike was a '73 750four
somewhere around 2:12 perhaps. hehe, awesome is a bit strong, i'm sure there's better out there :) i am good there though
yeah, so would it be preferable to you all if i picked another track that i'm not so familiar with?

ah, the original superbike  i had a 1979 CB900FZ at one point. nice in a straight line, but very heavy in the turns :scared:

No, by all means, it's an exellent challenge to do this track knowing how good you are at it....

Yeah, my '73 wasn't exactly cut out for turning either. I'd get those 4ply tires up to about 140 and the whole bike would shake and rattle like it was going to fall apart. The speedo said it could get to 180, I never even tried. lol If I did, I probably wouldn't be here today.

I'll start practice tonight, getting ready for the Suzuka Circuit, and I agree with Quin, it's a bigger challenge to try and upper someone who is actually very familiar with the track.

Somewhere around 2:12? Is that counting shortcuts, or respecting the track? I've raced as it's meant to be, and I can't seem to get under 2:15 no matter how hard I push... I need to work on the suspension settings, cause the bike is very stiff right now from Tsukuba, and also the Gears, but still... it's a bit too low to think I could go 2:12 on this track...

I've gotten a clean 2'11.4xx, but I figured it was slow so I screwed with the settings and I can't get any closer than 12.1!!! It's driving me crazy. I'm trying out 750's settings which are way off from anything I'd ever tried before, but just look at his run with a 1000 and you'll listen to what he has to say...

that's respecting the track, i don't do it any other way :) i've had a low 2:12 in practice, and looking at geo's pace, i'll need a 2:11 in the race

the settings i posted are what i use on all the smooth proper race tracks. i fiddle a bit on the bumpy circuits, like nurb or deep forest, but those
tracks are still a killer

very challenging though, so it's ok :D

I'm getting frustrated because I know the R6 is faster than the CB600RR and I saw a post somewhere that a kid got a 1'11.2xx with it. Also, I just can't touch my time!!! WTF??? I'm trying out your settings, but the bike seems very tight.... I'd like to figure out a way to loosen it up a bit without the suspension feeling squishy. Oh, and of course, since I thought the 2'11 was going to be too slow, I didn't bother with a replay save... So now I'm totally screwed!

EDIT!!!

I just got a clean 2'11.325!!!! I'll post a video and send a link. There is a slightly controvercial part in the last chicane, but I'll take stills to show it's clean....

Okay, for some reason I'm having a hard time getting the vid to the computer so I took some pics and I'll post the vid ASAP. The pics will show that at the point of time that it appears I went off the track, the bike was actually airborne. Also, it is clear that the rear wheel went off very slightly, and very briefly, however, the front wheel was back on the track when this happened. It's very close, and very disappointing, but I'll leave it up to you. I'll post videos of the natural replay, the third person view and the reverse third person view.

Also, 750, what do you use to get your replays so clear?

It seems clean those shots, and concidering that in some tracks like, Barber Motorsports, racers do cut through those, well, It's not that bad... Other's opinions are counted on though...

I just managed to break the 2:13s,but... I'm still far from ya'lls lap times.

i use one of these

re: your pictures; i wouldn't have thought you gained anything there, so it's not a worry for me as it is

any more on the dirt though, and it'd become a bit iffy imo :D

That's exactly what I have...what software do you use?

Either way, here is one of the vids:

Thanks guys, I appreciate you all accepting the vid... Don't get me wrong, I'm still trying for better though.:sly:

i use the software that came with it, pinnacle studio 10. what quality do you capture at, and what format do you make the capture into?

I use studio 10 also. I capture it at Mpeg2 highest quality, and I save it into a .wmv format.

yeah, highest available capture quality is a given. for anywhere other than nurb, i use mpeg2 as the final format

it gives a better final product than wmv, although in a bigger filesize

for nurb i have to resort to wmv

i generally work to get within the 100mb limit that youtube dictates for uploads

have you played with windows movie maker? that can add good fx to wmv files, like this one

i monochromed and aged it :D

Actually, WMM is what I use to make the final product. I capture it with the Studio 10 Software, and then add titles, music, etc. with WMM. If you use Google Video, you can have as large a file as you'd like. It's also free. On top of that, you can also download a program from Google that lets you upload multiple videos at one time. But the reason I use the .wmv is because WMM doesn't seem to like any other format when importing the video. But when I capture with WMM, the video quality is better, but it skips too many frames.

unlimited filesize uploard on google video, eh? i didn't know that, i'll give it a try, thanks :)

the race starts tomorrow, you looking for a 2:10?

Honestly, I'm outta my league in this track, I simply cannot understand how you guys can get below the 2:13s... I got a 2:13.5** and it seems quite impossible to break, I've worked every corner like crazy, even took slow rides through the track to record it into my system, and no matter how hard I push, I can't go faster than 2:13s... This is a battle of you guys...

But at the same time, I'm curious, as to how exactly, you guys get those 2:11s and such, so If ya'll don't mind, I'd like to request a Display Replay, preferably in first person view, because the only way I can find to go lower than 2:13 is cheating... so... plz cope with me...

First person view as in behind the fairing or with nothing in front at all? Because I race with nothing in front, but I usually record the replays in third person. Dude, seriously, you're not out classed here. I really thought that I was going slow untill 750 told me that I wasn't (well, not directly). It just takes practice. Have you tried my settings?

This site lets you store any file at almost any size, it just can't take longer than 10hrs to upload. This includes videos, music files, programs, you name it.

Honestly, I was ahead of my ghost by .6xx at T1 already, but only had .029 at T2, and dropped to .5 back at the end. So 10's are definitely possible!!! I'm going for it.
