Where the Citta di Aria course is narrow, almost claustrophobic. Cote d'Azur's streets are fairly broad. The lack of tall buildings on the edge of the course allows for much better sight lines. But this isn't an easy course. Despite broader thoroughfares, this track's corners are exceptionally tough, forcing you down to extremely low speeds at certain spots.

A hotlap for you raVer. Hope you and Drillah can jump in with the rest of us. Tough picking a bike from the Suzuki garage. I'm a noob, but I didn't really like many of them. Maybe it being Cote had something to do with it. This bike had the longest 1st gear that I found on any bike. Suzuki or other garages. You don't shift up until you hit 97mph! Will work on the SSR5 results tommorrow. But after seeing some of the pm's. My time really sucks. :yuck:

its going to be tricky threading this beast around such a twisty circuit, but hopefully fun too :D

i use pro mode, i've entered that in the poll 👍

G'Day all,
I play around with all settings but used normal for first two rounds.I am still working out the best button config for my Front / Rear braking setup so normal is one less thing to worry about for the time being.

Should be fun @ Monte Carlo ( are we allowed to stop and have a bet as well ? ).
Wrestled a V8 supercar around here for a bunch of laps recently so the Suzuki should be bliss in comparison

Good luck all.

Sorry, goofed up and forgot to make votes public. Can't change option on my end. Maybe one of the Mods could fix it. But no big deal.

I am still working out the best button config for my Front / Rear braking setup...

i find square for front brake and R2 for the rear works well for me

depends of course on how you have your other buttons mapped

Here we go

After 1 hour trying to find a good line , I came up with more or less acceptable T´s on Street Tyres

T1 28.599
T2 1´18.418

this track is not really my favourite :yuck:

You can use performance tyres also. It's up to you. See which ones you like better. Gonna finish off my GTPLMS hotlap and get to this on the weekend.

Not TT. But the track. Hasn't changed much since 1966.

Enjoy.

I use R1 for throttle and Triangle for brake & left stick for steering.
This is my default setting for all GT driving games.
For TT I have also started using L1 for crouch and R2 for rear brake.

Probably not the most efficient but too old to change now !

Great to see a new face on the track. All we need is a few more from the first couple of races to come back and we might get close to an even dozen. Nothing would make me happier than to finish last out of 12. :)

hi all :) i'm having more fun than i expected with this combo, and my best splits at the moment are

t1 - 0:28.372
t2 - 1:17.553

My best T2 so far is in the 1'20.xxx range. A lot of bike to maneuver around this track. This corner keeps giving me problems. Any advice would be nice.

Here is my advice - stop looking at the "Dolly Birds" and look for your apex instead :sly:

If I had a Mac, I'd do a cool little video about each track and talk about the problem spots. As it is:

Loews is the slowest corner of the track and probably one of the most famous corners in racing. This tight little hairpin has been featured on countless movies. In fact, most of the time, when they show the Monte Carlo track, the show this corner. Problems with it steam from it's slow speed and tight apex. Too much speed, you're in the wall.

Next is the Nouvelle chicane. Another really slow corner. This chicane looks bigger on the track map than it actually is and, as it comes right after a steep downhill decent, it's easy to carry too much speed into the corner, so a lot of early braking is key. Also, one should be able to shift up a gear or two coming out of it.

Lastly, we have La Rasscasse. This is a complex series of two sharp and sharper corners. On the map, and coming up to them, they would appear to be of equal radius, but, the track narrows after the first corner, and the second turn is a lot sharper. Again, it's easy to miss judge this corner and take it too fast and end up in the wall.

Hope this helps. :P

I was actually looking for something like "just go faster". :)

Received Drillah's first race submission. Haven't opened it yet. But nice to see another friendly biker dude here.

Following oldmodelt´s suggestion using "performance" Tyres for some Laps

The splits are

T1 - 27.756
T2 - 1´16.575

There is lots of improvement left especially on the 2nd T.

Have caught up with you guys at the T2 section. Tried new tactic. But think it's against the rules to use the RM version of the GSX-R 1000. So I am still in the 1'21.xxx range. But have cleared the way for some good time race tonight after my 2nd place finish over at RP's site this week. A five lapper at Suzuka.

Using the GSX-R 1000 RM with the specs of the KAWA ZX-6R RM , it´s ok for me :D

do I HAVE to submit the sector times?

Not here if you do not want to.
You need to in your final time pm to oldmodelt though.

Will get to this tonight or tomorrow, had a few laps at weekend but no legal ones as yet :dunce:
I note you can hit the wall here, a fair bit without occuring a penalty ? Is it because it is a TT not a Race ?
I wonder if I could make a video about wallriding here ?

Later.

You would be correct. 👍 In Arcade/ TT on the city tracks with no offs, ie. grass and dirt areas the penalty detection doesn't kick in unless you fall. There is another area that slipped by PD in one of the future races. :sly: $100 in monopoly money to the one who finds it first. :dopey:

Wallriding is encouraged if you want me to beat you. :dunce: Although I think SSR5 would have been a better fit if it was a TT. Better track flow.

As for the Kawa, raVer. Maybe if we have another series. Already planning if the interest is here/there.

A $100 eh ( rubs hands together ) I could use that to buy myself another Hotel 💡

I'll guess now - it is Hong Kong (or possibly Deep Forest). Will have to wait until I get home though to check.Hope no one else guesses right in the meantime, sure could use that cash.

Edit - Did some laps as planned last night.
I have decided this is a very difficult track (duuh ).In fact this and Suzuka would be the most difficult in the game.
Those slow corners do my head in.
Managed to get around though with a nice tidy lap -
T1: 28 . 193
T2: 1 ' 17 . 920

Also pleased because for the first and only time, managed top get Portier right.
I kid you not.

Hi guys. For those of you that know me, sorry for my absence lately. I was staying with my Dad for a few weeks helping with pre & post catarac surgery eye drops. For those of you that don't know me, welcome to the fun!

Anyways...

T1: 0'27.691
T2: 1'15.765

for me this week.

Pro Mode (only)
Performance Tires, Tire Wear: None
Lean Bike (Which I normally detest, but going all Mick Doohan helped with the walls.)

Nice to see you. I went with Motard. Just couldn't get the hang of lean bike. Six submissions plus mine makes seven so far. :) Hope the reminders aren't a bother. :nervous:

Working on results when deadline closes for the next day. And a correction in my post #12 with incorrect kudos.

Also any Podium Placers who submit vids will have them inserted into the main thread. El Capitan finished. Heck, anyone posting a video will be put in the order of their placing.

Video in thread of DJ on a putt putt.

No biggie T. I slowed down for a peek on the GSX-R too. :sly:
