There's a very easy way to test tunes online without joining lobbies. Go into your own lounge. That way you can race alone, but with the online physic differences.

I'm a tuner and I race online as well. Only way to see how good I've done is to go online, race below the PP limit, and thrash everyone.
Depends how many friends you get.Yes I always tune online, but I don't get to race as much as I would like. I suffer from cronic pain so my health prevents me. It is funny people complain about bad drivers online but from my expierence it is no where near as bad as some people make it out to be. The problem I come across is getting people to join my lobbies lol. I really enjoy 450pp racing on S3 tires no assist, and it seems like GT5 players only want to run max power on R3 only. Of all the people on my friends list only about 5% race online but for some reason or another they only like private lobbies. Which is fine but no where near as exciting as random racers, only racing with friends gets boring after a few sessions.
