My question is: If I already have GT7 and The Crew Motorfest to cover all my "racing" needs (something a bit more serious and something to play with the brain turned off, respectively) would there be a place for FH5 in my already scarce play time?

I think it fits too much in the Crew category and I don't see many positives or benefits directly comparing both of them.
Before The Crew Motorfest I used to dream about having an Xbox as well to play FH games, but the general idea is well covered by the fun handling and similar concept in The Crew Motorfest.

Thank you in advance for your insights! :)
In Crew Motorfest I got tired of looking/grinding for gold parts and those make the difference. It's also riddled with microtransactions, that's their business model.

Other than the paid car packs (and the map and you don't need it) there are no microtransactions in FH, and you upgrade your cars with parts purchased with in-game currency.

FM23 would prolly be devastated by GT7 if it were to be released on the PS5.
It would do well enough. There's clearly an audience for a console circuit racer and FM has some cars/tracks that don't appear in either GT7 or ACC. There's room for all of them.

Also, while there are "lootboxes", so to speak, in the form of Wheelspins, those are awarded on every level-up so if you want cars or emotes or cosmetics quickly you can go around smashing the XP bonus boards around the map. Plus, the only way you can get duplicate items from those things is if you're awarded a car you already have, and you can convert those dupes into credits, so if you hang around long enough to get all the Wheelspin-exclusive emotes and cosmetics (which took about 300 hours for me) you'll be left with credit awards and cars.

Coming from the other side, FH5 to TCM, Motorfest feels like playing with toys while FH5 feels like actually racing vehicles, and I don't mean that it's more difficult, I mean that it feels like it has real depth.

The biggest problem The Crew games have had is their physics, TC2 was extremely arcade-y, and while TCM has more uh, "variables" to the handling, it's kinda bolted onto an already silly handling model. FH5 (and all Horizon games) were built on top of Forzatech's sim handling model and made more arcade-y, but the sim roots means every car truly does feel unique.

Consider TCM's latest reward vehicle, the hillclimb Ford Focus. It's supposed to have crazy downforce, but because of the handling model, it slips and slides like any other car in the game, realistically there's nothing to set it apart besides the visuals. The extent to which FH5 simulates elements of the physics grants WAY more depth, and grip tunes are worlds apart from base tunes.

Don't care about all that? You don't need to, you can download other people's tunes and watch the driving experience transform for your vehicle of choice. It's truly a seamless experience.

TL;DR, FH5 handling model has much more nuance and makes every car feel truly unique to drive (not even getting into the tuning) compared to The Crew games, and if you consider that you're driving 100% of the time, that added depth makes a big difference.

I would compare it to food; sometimes you want a steak, sometimes just a burger and sometimes something with "weird" vegetables like broccoli :D
The more choices you have the better I would say

The large car list of FH5 has my attention. There are quite a few cars that like that are not in GT7 CTS V Blackwing & AZ1 are 2 two that I know of that are not in GT7. I am not going to get it this right away. ( I don't like paying full price for games anymore) But I will get this eventually

There are a trillion more cars to pick from in FH5, none of those helicopter nonsense and car handling model is light years ahead of Motorfest since it is somewhat based on the Motorsports line.

Funny that one mentioned one of the most annoying things for me in The Crew Motorfest, the stupid and childish Parts update system.
Thank you, very good perspective Nacho.

Bro, you went to the Crew section and started lamenting daily how Forza is boring and how the Crew is a perfect game. Now you need to express your frustration over the Crew here. I frankly don't care... It's your opinion and I respect that.
But this is just straight laying. To say that Forza has just 2 expansions and what 40 car packs, car vouchers, ecc but nothing else is just hilarious.

Well, my posts on The Crew Motorfest are easily verifiable by using the Search box. Nowhere there I disparage Forza Horizon (on a daily basis!) or praise TC in absolute terms, as you state.

This is my last post on Motorfest:
"Well, after not touching the game for weeks now it pains me to say that I've just uninstalled. The motivation is not there, and time is better allocated to other games and yes, to FH/FM mainly. I may revisit it way down the road if it gets the longevity TC2 has achieved."

So, will there be a new playlist next month, or is there nothing else beyond the Realms update and the new cars?

I missed the 2022 Challenger, but I do have all the other FOMO cars.
