They always do that, when you change from comfort or sport tires to racing tires(and IMs are racing tires)
Sure, but for the Neo Classic events those cars, unless you choose to run something left-of-field, are going to be running race tyres of some discription. I've never bothered to test them, but surely even a RH tyre would lap quicker in the dry then an intimediate.

I attempted the WTC 800 lateish last night. Don't recall ever having run Dragon Tail in reverse before, so took a few laps to acclimatise. Aside from getting punted off a couple of times by the AI cars i should have taken the win. I started off on RH's and FM4 but had to splash and dash at the end of lap 8. Was p3 exiting the pits on the start of L9 only to get heavily taken out by p4 as i left the pit lane

Looks like it may be possible to non-stop it using RH and FM6, but it will be touch and go on the fuel.

I did a few last runs at Interlagos before the new races because I adore the Turbo Races.

800PP final race this week? It's time for mega [and swapped] road cars to come out :mischievous:

Yes, yes, I'll use a Gr.3 car other than a Ford GT later.

@Fuzzi0n How is the handling on the swapped Toyota Crown? I remember it struggling with rear traction accelerating out slow corners, and just overall being twitchy.

@skydragon49 Here goes the Peugeot 205 T16 tune with some ballast in the nose. You can drive much more aggressively with this. I softened the suspension a bit to make it more playful / easier to rotate. Play with Final Drive if you need more top speed.

It won't set the world on fire at 700pp, but I had fun with it. It almost keeps up with the swapped Imprezas... almost

Thank you very much! I'll try this out next time I play the game.

Really appreciate it. 🙏🏼

Took my 800pp R92CP for the Fuji Neo Classic, remembered there might be rain so I bought intermediate tires. Took the lead of the race and it started raining hard after 6 laps, so I pitted to change for intermediates, only to realize I couldn't use them. Yes the PP rating would be higher with intermediates than slick hard tires... Lost 10 minutes of my life.
Could you post some screenshots please? At least for stock the PP is lower with IMs, although the difference is very small.

Clear all weeklies today .
For the two 10 laps race i use the Audi DTM 19 for Dragon and non stop race at FM5 and Fuji i run it two times .

First with GT one ,pit on lap 4 while torrential rain was coming and pass everyone before lap 5 end.
Second time i choose 962 , same story but not so heavy rain this time and heavy rain tyres was near the end at lap 10.
AI pit at lap 9 again for intermediate tyres making the margin from the second over a minute.
I know that neoclassical Fuji was " problematic " in the past but at least at normal mod that i did it , wasn't hard at all.

The 6* brought a Lambo VGT that sold for 560k so much or less a million enter on the bank.

Cars I used for this week's Challenges.

American FR Challenge 550: Corvette C6 ZR1. Already tuned and already powerful so figured it'd be a breeze.
Japanese 4WD Challenge 600: Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Final. Another instance of "Easy pezzy, Lemon Squeezy"
Neo Classic Competition: Jaguar XJR-9. As the car I originally finally completed this torture session with, easy choice.
World Touring Car 800: Mercedes CLK LM. For convenience and time, another walk in the park (though it didn't come without some close moments)
BMW Z4 One-Make: Just copied my Lexus LC500 strategy of slapping on Racing hards and holding the corners better then everyone else. Worked to perfection, especially when nailing the exit out of the chicanes (where the AI could do nothing).

Easy week for sure.
Fuji was in the same car I've won this race before,787B. Rain came but only briefly at the end of lap 6. I still pitted for IM's and a splash. Won by almost a minute.
Fuji International Speedway_ (9) by 2cam16, on Flickr
Dragon Trail saw my Lexus SC. I haven't run this direction in awhile so it took a lap to get back into it. lol Ran on FM3 with the lead on the third lap. Pitted for a splash at around lap 9 and won by 30 seconds.
Dragon Trail - Seaside Reverse_ by 2cam16, on Flickr
Tokyo was not my thing. Not into the car nor one of my favorite venues so just ended it with my modded Z.
Tokyo Expressway - South Clockwise_ (2) by 2cam16, on Flickr
Kyoto in one of my WRX's. Won by around 15 seconds.
Kyoto Driving Park - Yamagiwa_ (10) by 2cam16, on Flickr
Blue Moon in a stock Mustang GT on RS but still around the suggested 550pp. Won by 7 seconds.
Blue Moon Bay Speedway_ by 2cam16, on Flickr
Won an Audi VGT with the ticket but already owned one so sold it.

Strange! Yeah, seems like a bug that's somehow miscalculating the PP with certain tunes. I did the race an hour ago in this car (but with a different tune) and didn't have this problem.

Don't know it it's really a bug or it happens on purpose but definitely it happens to the most cars that are in this group category that take part at neoclassical races .
The king of this " glitch" ( short of ) is Escudo.
There was crazy differences while i was trying to set it for 700pp at la sarthe .
Also happens with ballast, adding more and alters the pp 😂 .
Perhaps its an algorithm that didn't allow you to use rain tyres under a certain power weight configuration to " cut " your advantage in races with rain or something like that.

Happens with many cars of group C and when weather enables, you have to watch what tyres allowed before you start otherwise you're doomed.

Completed the 3 short races tonight. I switched the difficulty level back to hard after a few months of easy mode. I may do a themed run through later. Not the most inspiring set this week.

Didn't like this weeks set of races much.....not enough to take 'em seriously and take pictures. (But I enjoy your pics folks!)
Did the first three races on hard and the remaining two on easy, just to get it done. DT reverse it at least ok but Fuji is almost always awful and especially with fast cars.
Got a Dodge VGT Gr.1 from the ticket so it wasn't really worth it at all. Hope for more interesting races next week.

Picked some cars and dressed them up, but I've only managed to get four of the races done. Hard difficulty.

weekly-challenge-202503w2-r1.jpg

Blue Moon Bay - Chevrolet Corvette (C2) '63 - I threw on some SM tires, which put the PP just under the recommended amount. The car was okay, but just couldn't match the top speed of the Mustang. Finished P2, just ahead of the Viper. First ticket obtained -- got a crankshaft.

weekly-challenge-202503w2-r2.jpg

Kyoto - Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII MR GSR '04 - This car was quite a way under the recommended PP, so I threw on SS tires and all of the sport-level accessories. Made for an easy win. Too easy, really. Second box checked.

weekly-challenge-202503w2-r3.jpg

Tokyo - BMW Z4 3.0i '03 - Upgraded the tires to SS. It made for a decent race. I only caught the leader at the start of the final lap. Still made for an easy win. Second ticket obtained.

weekly-challenge-202503w2-r4.jpg

Fuji - Jaguar XJR-9 '88 - Detuned the car down quite a bit to run on RM tires. Restricted the power to 70% and added 76kg of balance towards the front. Decided to run a no-stop strategy -- aggressive short shifting and FM2 for the fist half of the race. Going into the final lap, I was in P3, but the car ahead decided to pit for a second time, along with many of the cars behind me. Finished P2 about 13 seconds behind the lead. Good enough for the fourth check box.

I don't really car about winning another car -- I own them all, already -- but I'll probably give the final race a try at some point just because it irks me to see the empty checkbox beside the World Showcase.

Difficulty: Hard

American FR Challenge 550
Corvette Gr.3 Road Car
Same car as last week. Unsurprisingly, being 80 over the recommended PP means it's a clean sweep.
1st, CRB.
20970306354375077.jpg

Japanese 4WD Challenge 600
Lancer Evo VIII MR GSR '04
This is a car built for a league spec. I figured I'd give it a whirl even though it's only 522 PP. Ended up passing for the win at 35R.
1st, CRB (2nd attempt - yellow Subaru hit me from the outside at 35R and ruined the clean bonus)
20970465440314948.jpg

Special Event - Z4 One-Make Race
Z4 3.0i '03
Another league spec car. This one's at 534 pp, 260 HP and 2560 lbs. Maybe a little overtuned for the event...
1st, CRB. Received 4★ Roulette from Daily Marathon.
20969964878226076.jpg

Neo-Classic Competition
V6 Escudo Pikes Peak Special '98
I remember the AI driven one doing horribly. Took one look at the car and decided "I can do better". RH, FM6, shifting at 7500-8000 RPM. Didn't get any substantial rain, so I pitted on lap 7 in P5, filled to 50% tank and kept to FM6. The top 4 all severely miscalculated their first pits and went in on lap 9 for a splash & dash, which put me a second ahead of the race-leading 787B. Dropped to FM1 and just went whole hog to put some distance between it and my car.
1st, no CRB... not that I care about it, these races always find a way to screw me out of a CRB.
20970171574340177.jpg

WTC 800
V6 Escudo Pikes Peak Special '98
... because why not? I'm already warmed up with the car from the Neo-Classic event.
Same deal - RH, FM6, 7500-8000 shift. Pit lap 7, tires optional, but fuel must be 50-51%.
1st, CRB (somehow).
20969992929002142.jpg

4★ Daily: Audi TT Coupé 3.2 quattro '03 (Color: Ebony Black Pearl Effect)
6★ Parts: Ultra-High RPM Turbo (Mazda RX-7 Spirit R Type A '02)
6★ Car: Honda NSX GT500 '08 (Color: EPSON)

Only costs I had to incur this week was an oil change for the Escudo.

Only won the Fuji race cause I restarted the race after knowing the best lap to pit to capitalize on the rain.
No way to win it without that for me

Don't know what happened in the past since i only did that once.
Now with rain which is usually heavy one , the Ai pit two times and some of them 3 .
It's very hard to match the front runners pace on hard level but the right strategy pays you.
Just from curiosity i did 3 races at hard level and their faster lap is at 33's .
I win all of 3 and abort one cause rain caught me out since accidentally i pass the pits 🤣 .
At normal level is easier and they pit also twice .

The best strategy is one stop in any case having on mind that AI will pit twice with or without rain ( which never happens the times i try it ).

Although i have to admit that i can't -and no willing to do - match the AI pace at hard level but i can win them and that's enough.

Final race done. Hard difficulty.

weekly-challenge-202503w2-r5.jpg

Dragon Trail - Subaru WRX Gr.3 - Started on RS tires, aiming to a 1-stop. That meant saving fuel with a bit of short-shifting. The right front tire wore down much faster than I expected. I stayed out for a fifth lap, but there was no tread left on the tire by the time I got past the Death Chicken. Had to nurse the car to the pits, where I filled up and switched to RMs for the second stint. I was only in P4 at the end of lap 9 and I thought I might have to run again, but one of the cars ahead went into the pits, promoting me to P3 and an easy podium finish. Final box ticked, and ticket achieved.

Won an Enzo Ferrari '02 from the car ticket.

I tried the Fuji race in a fully built Toyota GT500 but that only got me 6th place behind all the Gr.C cars. So the second time I took out my trusty 787b and won pretty easily on a no-stop run.

For Dragontail I took the top off and ran the VW GTi VGT Gr.3. Got 3rd on my first attempt just a couple seconds behind the leaders. Could probably get first if I ran it again but I’ve already won the race before. No need to keep chasing the win when 3rd gets my the ticket.

Daily Marathon ticket was a Nissan GT500 engine swap. Pit that in to a Silvia Gr.4 Touring car. My parts ticket was Stage 5 weight reduction for an Aston One-77 and my car ticket was a Mini Clubman VGT which I sold for 550k credits.

I did the two long races last night that I had remaining to complete the week.
  • Neo-Classic at Fuji: Sauber-Mercedes C9, stock, 1st, CRB. Mostly dry race, had a light drizzle on lap 9. Got the lead on the last lap as Grady was coming out of the pits. He divebombed me into T1 and spun himself, I somehow kept the CRB after that too. Won by over 5 seconds.
  • WTC800 at Dragon Trail: Mercedes CLK-LM, stock, 1st, no CRB. Really hard to get any kind of rhythm going on the reverse layout. I did have a few restarts due to spins, etc. Considering I won by over 30 seconds, I definitely didn’t need to be as aggressive in traffic as I thought.
Parts ticket gave me a Camshaft for the GR86 and the car ticket handed me the Tomahawk GTS-R VGT.
