Tuner: Zeff
Turn in: 8
Mid corner response: 6
Corner exit: 6
Stability: 7
Grip: 7
High speed controllability: 9
Handling while braking: 9
Acceleration: 8
Total: 60/80
Final thoughts: The turn in was very good at this set-up. But at irregularities in corners it would'nt at all steer, thus finding a good racing line and having a good corner exit was ver hard with my driving style. I liked the gearing a lot,, nicely found!

Tuner: Gregc
Turn in: 8
Mid corner: 7
Stability: 5
Grip: 7
High speed controllability: 7
Handling while braking: 7
Acceleration: 6
Total: 54/80
Final thoughts: Overall an average set-up. I liked the cornering in this set-up, which went fairly easy, but at irregularities, the car would bounce around like a mad man.. Which was quite annoying.. Everything else was quite good, not that it wasnt fully tuned though.

Tuner: Duck
Turn in: 8
Mid corner response: 8
Corner exit: 7
Grip: 6
High speed controllability: 10
Handling while braking: 8
Acceleration: 7
Total: 63/80
Final thoughts: Even though this set-up was originally put together for mid field right?,, it was also a good one at this track. It didn't have that much of overseer anymore,, so that was nice to me. Cornering went really easy,, especially at high speeds. Only the grip while accelerating could've been better. Very good work:tup:

Tuner: Noobie4ever
Turn in: 8
Mid corner: 6
Corner exit: 6
Stability: 8
Grip: 7
High speed controllability: 7
Handling while braking: 6
Acceleration: 6
Total: 53/80
Final thoughts: A fair set -up. Turn in was quite good, but at mid corner it would oversteer excessively sometimes, thus making a good corner exit almost impossible in my book. Some of the geearing seemed to short, but I liked the stability a lot, it didn't feel nervous at all.

Tuner: Opendriver 19A
Turn in: 7
Mid corner: 6
Corner exit: 5
Stability: 4
Grip: 8
High speed controllability: 6
Handling while braking: 8
Acceleration: 8
total: 52/80
Final thoughts: Overall this was a way to stiff set-up at some parts of the track. It would bounce around heavily,, and that was really annoying. The understeer was als still in this set-up so I didn't like cornering very much. Acceleration and handling while braking was good.

Tuner: Leadslead #2
Turn in: 8
Mid corner: 8
Corner exit: 7
Stability: 8
Grip: 7
High speed controllability: 8
Handling while braking: 9
Acceleration: 8
Total: 63/80
Final thoughts: A very well balanced set-up, it didn't understeer that bad anymore,, and so cornering a this set-up was really easy. I almost liked everything, only the start-off could;ve been better. Really good work:)

Tuner: Team666
Turn in: 8
Mid corner: 7
Corner entry: 7
Stability: 8
Grip: 7
High speed controllability: 9
Handling while braking: 8
Acceleration: 8
Total: 62/80
Final thoughts: This setting was very good. Acceleration was really good, just as high speed controllability and braking. Cornering was really easy with this set-up, but sometimes it had a little bit of understeer. Nonetheless a very good set-up :)

Tuner: Sprite

Turn in: 7
Mid corner response: 7
Corner exit: 6
Stability: 7
Grip: 7
High speed controllabiliy: 6
Handling while braking: 6
Acceleration: 7

Total: 53/80

Final thoughts: Not much has changed in this setting if yiu compar it too the stock car,, which is a pity if you know I compare with the stock car. Cornering was pretty good,, only at Corner exits it would understeer and at high speeds too. There weren't a lot of problems with this set-up,, only the understeer was a problem sometimes.. And Me no like understeer Anyways,, it wasn't bad at all

TUNER: opendriver19a

622bhp /// 495ft/lb

Turn-in = 5. Although the downforce does help in some way, this car pushes extremely wide if you go in too fast.

Mid-Corner Response = 5. The traction control makes the car feel dead in corners. Yes, it holds the line, but if you weren’t on the line there’s nothing to be done.

Corner exit = 5. It’s going to run wide, again because of the traction control, if you don’t get it right.

Stability = 7. It’s pretty hard to upset this car, although the Corkscrew seems to manage it because of the low rideheight. Surprisingly stable, though.

Grip = 9. Plenty of grip, far too much in my opinion, in part because of the downforce but it’s mostly the traction control.

High-speed controllability = 6. Not averse to turning at high speeds, but it won’t slow down from them.

Handling while braking = 3. Awful. Again it’s the traction control, this car runs hopelessly wide if you try to turn while braking.

Acceleration = 8. The acceleration is brutal, once the traction control stops stealing it, and takes this car damn close to 180mph here.

Total = 48/80

Final Comments
I dislike this car. Maybe it’s a good setup, I don’t know, because it has committed the cardinal sin of fitting traction control to a TVR. The result is a car that feels dead in most situations. It may be safer, but this is a 600bhp TVR – it is supposed to push your skill and control to the limit, and if it did, it would feel so much better.

TUNER: Sprite

385bhp /// 324ft/lb

Turn-in = 7. This car turns in just as well as the stock model.

Mid-Corner Response = 8. Nice and easy to push to the inside of a corner on the power, and still feels responsive.

Corner exit = 7. Not always perfect on the exits, but there’s no big problems.

Stability = 7. It’s pretty hard to upset this car. Only having stock power was a good idea, and cuts out wheelspin, even going over very poor track surfaces.

Grip = 7. A good amount of grip, just about as much as the standard car. Watch the start-offs, but aside from that it’s hard to spin the wheels up.

High-speed controllability = 7. No real problems here, just a little bit understeery. Rather that than it killing you.

Handling while braking = 7. Doesn’t go dead on the brakes, it’s not brilliantly agile but still turns in.

Acceleration = 8. The stock car was plenty fast enough, and this has been recognised here. It feels even faster than it is.

Total = 58/80

Final Comments
This is a good base-power car. The suspension is perhaps a little stiff for El Capitan on paper, but when driving it’s not really noticeable. It doesn’t really shine in any particular area, but it has no problems either. A good neutral setup for multi-purpose racing – if this was a real car, it’d do well on track days, as it’s not prone to snap oversteer or wild understeer. It makes a good use of the standard power.

TUNER: LeadSlead#2

501bhp ///410ft/lb

Turn-in = 8. The downforce produces plenty of turn-in for this car.

Mid-Corner Response = 8. Can be pushed to the inside in a low gear, but steady on low power. Good.

Corner exit = 8. If it doesn’t leave the corner well, it’s likely to be the driver’s fault, not the car.

Stability = 6. Although this car uses its instability well, it must be marked down for it here. Beware snap oversteer on hard power.

Grip = 5. Mid-corner in 2nd will punish you, or even in 3rd, if you open the throttle too quickly. And don’t try a full-bore start.

High-speed controllability = 8. Pretty good, it doesn’t feel about to snap round on you, but it turns well.

Handling while braking = 8. The brakes look to be far too powerful, but it they still work well. Effective, but not deadening.

Acceleration = 8. Once the rear tyres have found some grip, the wide gearing takes the car close to 170mph – plenty fast enough – although 4th gear should be a little longer for the main straight.

Total = 59/80

Final Comments
A nice job. The gearing is unorthodox and feels very wide, but it works pretty well on the track. This is one of few cars that can take the Corkscrew flat-out, but one will soon discover that it must be driven flat-out or it will understeer. The result is a car that can be extremely fast, but requires a lot of skill to keep under control. Not to be recommended for endurance racing, this is a car to set hot laps. And if you get it right, it will produce a very hot lap indeed.

TUNER: Team666

622bhp ///495ft/lb

Turn-in = 6. The combination of soft dampers and a lot of rear downforce stops this car being very eager

Mid-Corner Response = 6. Still feels understeery, even when well into the turn, but predictable.

Corner exit = 7. Sometimes comes up with a little oversteer, which is good, but can run wide a bit otherwise.

Stability = 7. Not bad for so much power. Not prone to snap oversteer, but once the rears have broken loose, be careful.

Grip = 5. Mid-corner in 2nd will punish those who are over-zealous with power. And don’t try a full-bore start, or in fact any sort of start if you can avoid it.

High-speed controllability = 7. Pretty good, nice and stable but not too keen on turning.

Handling while braking = 7. Brakes effectively and safely, although a tad hard to turn in with the full stopping power engaged.

Acceleration = 9. Like strapping a liquid-fuelled rocket to a shopping trolley. This car is extremely fast, with good gearing too, being propelled beyond 180mph on this straight alone.

Total = 54/80

Final Comments
This car feels a bit dead on the turn-in to bends, unwilling to get into a proper corner, but on the way out it feels better. Unusually, the rear downforce is considerably stronger than the front, which is likely the reason for this. It does keep the rear end in line, though. This car is quite easy to drive fast, and produces increasingly fast lap times. Slow turn-in is a fair price to pay for putting a full-power car like this into such easy circumstances.

TUNER: noobie 4 ever

398bhp ///331ft/lb

Turn-in = 5. Not much different to the stock car on the turn-in, which isn’t good.

Mid-Corner Response = 6. Tends to run wide on hard power, but not too bad.

Corner exit = 5. Wide again, and not easy to correct.

Stability = 7. Not very much power in use here, making the car fairly stable in most places.

Grip = 7. Again, little power means one can use more throttle than a full-tune car, but the lack of downforce makes fast starts tricky.

High-speed controllability = 7. Never seems to reach very high speeds, and sometimes understeers, but stable.

Handling while braking = 5. The brakes have been completely ignored in this setup, and it shows.

Acceleration = 5. Having not much more power than the standard model shows, especially on hills. The gearing is standard, and does not work well here.

Projected Total = 47/80
–2 points for standard gears
-2 points for Semi-Racing suspension incorrectly specified

Total = 43/80

Final Comments
Not a lot of work has gone into this setup, and it shows. Near-stock power makes it slow as far as laptimes are concerned, although this would be OK if the car were lively and agile – it isn’t. The LSD’s effect, too, is hard to notice. The brakes should have been modified as well.
Points have been removed for incorrect parts specification.

TUNER: gregc

435bhp ///366ft/lb

Turn-in = 9. The downforce bias is spot-on. This car goes into every corner here with no problems.

Mid-Corner Response = 8. It’ll hold the line of a lot of turns flat-out, which is more than can be said for some cars on test.

Corner exit = 8. If it runs wide, that’ll be the driver’s fault for not knowing the line rather than the car’s for not holding it.

Stability = 8. Although there’s a fair bit of power, it can take the Corkscrew at full power. Enough said.

Grip = 7. Never breaks the rear tyres loose in normal conditions, even on full power coming out of a hairpin. Starts not too bad, but still not great.

High-speed controllability = 8. Surprisingly fast for the power, and it can easily take the first corner flat-out.

Handling while braking 7. Quite good for the standard brakes, no problems here. Turns quite well.

Acceleration = 7. Although the gears seem to shift a bit slow to start with, this is soon forgotten. The gears work well here, and the speed is good for the power level.

Total = 62/80

Final Comments
A very good setup. It’s not overpowered, therefore not quite as fast as some of the cars here, but the handling is incomparable. It’s shocking sometimes just how fast a corner can be taken in this car, and it’s great fun to drive. Steady laptime improvements can be expected, as it’s not a difficult car to master. Going over the Corkscrew on full power with so little fuss is to be commended.

TUNER: Du?k

592bhp ///471ft/lb

Turn-in = 7. Not too bad, but will push out if you go in too hard.

Mid-Corner Response = 7. Quite steady, but not too hard to adjust with the throttle.

Corner exit = 7. Usually no problems, but there’s a lot of power so early throttle should be avoided.

Stability = 5. Probably the most dangerous car on test, it requires a very cautious and skilled driver.

Grip = 5. Half throttle in 2nd gear is likely to break grip at the rear, full power is risky even in 3rd. Bumps and cambers in the track do not mix well with stiff springs and 600bhp.

High-speed controllability = 7. Although it reaches pretty high speeds, it’s not difficult to keep it under control. Turns fairly well.

Handling while braking 6. The brakes could perhaps use some fiddling, they have trouble pulling this much power into line and sometimes push you wide.

Acceleration = 8. Not the fastest straight-line car here, but it’s close. The standard FC-fitted gearing is surprisingly effective.

Total = 52/80

Final Comments
Fear this setup. It doesn’t look suited to El Capitan, although once on the road it isn’t as bad as expected. The springs don’t feel quite so hard as they are, balanced by the dampers, but it does exactly as you’d expect of a fully-tuned TVR: it goes sideways. A bit like owning a grizzly bear, this one – Fun, but it will eventually tear your head off.

The Verdict
Highest Points Score = gregc
Gregc's car is my definite winner here. Some setups are faster, by a long way in fact, but this car makes up for being slower on the straights by excelling in the turns. It continued to amaze by going through some corners at seemingly impossible speeds, including the Corkscrew. A job well done, this one.

Moral of the Story: No TVR should ever be burdened with traction control.

My formatting! :)

Seems Deathwish and I disagreed a little over Gregc's setup, and my favourite each week failed to take the win each time! Maybe that'll change in 'Week' 3 :P

Well done to everyone who took part. 👍

Ooooh, joint 2nd.....

I really enjoyed doing this one, I love flying flat out through the corkscrew section and I loved this car for that :D

Congrats to LeadSlead#2 👍, and well done to everybody :)

What happened to my settings being tested? I see De@tthwi§ho0 has reviewed them but noone else :( Also I am confused, week 2 was the Tuscan yes?

Thanks to De@tthwi§ho0 for his kind words though because I really hate that car! :D

Good judging mate:)
You too :)

Erm, I'm pretty certain I received no settings for you, zefff.
And yes, Week 2 is the TVR Tuscan Speed Six at El Capitan.

Yep, that made me feel pretty good too  Get it right and you feel like a god. But get it wrong, and you'll feel like an angel.

Lol - get it wrong and you'll be an angel....

Thanks for the nice comments by the way - sounds like you enjoyed driving my setup, and I appreciate it. That car won the Nurb 24hr in Billy B-spec's hands too, so I reckon it's not too shabby :)

And judging is much harder than taking part, as I'm discovering.....

My Rating for zefff's Settings:

Turn-in (entry to corners)
Ranking (1-10): 7

Mid-Corner response (whether the car under/oversteers mid-corner or holds the racing line well)
Ranking (1-10): 9

Corner exit (how quickly you can exit a corner whilst staying in good control)
Ranking (1-10): 6

Stability (rear end staying in line, car not 'jumping' or feeling skittish in turns)
Ranking (1-10): 8

Grip (start-offs, how much power can be used without the drive wheels losing traction? Does the car oversteer excessively?)
Ranking (1-10): 7

High-speed controllability (whether the car becomes 'frantic' and turns far too sharply at high speeds)
Ranking (1-10): 8

Handling while braking (are you able to easily turn the car while braking, and without going into oversteer?)
Ranking (1-10): 7

Acceleration (how good is it? Is there a lot of traction while doing it?)
Ranking (1-10): 8

Total Combined Ranking: 60

Final Thoughts: It’s a very good set-up, it has great acceleration, and pretty solid handling. However, with the handling, even though it sticks to the road mid-corner, it doesn’t turn in very easily, nor does it exit the corner very well (requiring you to brake at the end of the corner so you won’t go into the kitty litter or lawn and spin out). However, the overall handling is solid, and not sluggish, like other settings.
