Tuning Question About Suspension

Hi guys,

Just a quick one. When you buy a car it is totally stock then you can add fixed sport suspension which I presume improves the handling. If you buy the height adjustable Sports suspension is it exactly the same (no performance gain) over the first one unless you adjust the height?

Finally if you buy the fully customisable set up and don't touch a thing is it better than the first two or does it not improve anything until you change something?

Cheers.

PS just just dropping the height a few mm improve things a bit?

Cheers.

The difference between them all is the amount of stuff you can change. The full custom one you might be able to drop the height max to -25 while the sports might be -15 etc. The values do change by themselves in a lot of cars I have noticed where you buy the custom one and suddenly the camber has values instead of just 0. The best thing to do is always buy the custom one so you have full control now and later to change anything and get the max values. Dropping the height 98% of the time makes the car instantly better. If you drop it a lot stiffen the springs and adjust all the other values. Camber and toe make a huge difference too.

FC Suspension (default) should be better than the Height Adjustable Suspension (default) and that should be better than the Sport Suspension.
But even a rough setup improves it much.

I drive as much as I can in a stock vehicle to truly understand the suspension of a vehicle. A lot of times I feel like the handling is quite good but is slightly improved upon by the sport or height adj. suspension. I do put in the FC kit but only after many miles of driving. A lot of time was spent in the development of the vehicles both in real life and in the game to represent real life. I know on some cars, making it too low or messing with camber angles can make for an awful experience. Just use caution before blowing 20,000 cr.

Each of the suspensions has default settings slightly different. Even if you don't change a thing, you can usually benefit from upgrading to the fully customizable setup. It will give you stiffer springs, dampers, and rollbars which will help with stability on almost every course. You can get close to these settings with the lesser suspensions but you won't know what they are until you buy the FC kit.

For a-spec driving, I guess it doesn't matter all that much. However, for online racing, you'll need to add camber and run a finely tuned suspension to be competitive on most tracks. I'll run the stock suspension for a while and see how competitive a car is...then I'll just grab the FC kit if I need to make adjustments. Its a waste of money for me to buy anything less.

I was reading through the post wondering when the actual question was going to be answered, until I saw this post.
