Tuning Tires

I was wondering what type of tire everyone tunes in? Lesser tire's obviously expose more flaws. But does a tune for say Sports Softs translate to a good tune on a car for Racing Softs? Going by this logic would it be best to tune a car to hold the road in Comfort Hard to the best of your abilities and that would also maximize the performance with Racing Softs?

I tune cars on the tires they will be used on; more or less grip can drastically change what is needed in a setup so it's best to just use what you plan to run the car on.

The problem with tuning exclusively on, say, race softs, is that the limits go far higher than most drivers can push the car... Meaning you don't really see where the car is wrong unless you know the track extremely well.

I usually use racing soft tyres on a tuned car, using less on a 800-1000bhp machine usually results in wheelspin even with TCS on
