Will be easier to find a monitor with acceptable input lag. I find input lag a major annoyance for racing. It affects turnin and when you see a slide it´s often to late to correct. You can learn to compensate some for the turnin factor but still better to have things happen in real time. As for image quality may get more bang for buck with a good tv particularly if you are willing to pay a little bit for features you don´t need.

There's not much difference between a tv and a monitor now.

One of my friend bought a 32 Samsung Led tv that he's using to watch tv/play games and it's perfectly fine. It's even 3D.

it all comes down to what you want to do with it and how much you're ready to spend. For a PS3 you wont see difference in input lag with a monitor or a TV.

You should check some review for both a monitor and a TV and take the one that fits your needs the most.

It does - the TV in my lounge and the TVs most of my friends have all have noticeable input lag. I have a small LCD LED in my room and it's a lot faster when playing stuff like Battlefield or Call of Duty since you need good reaction times for those. I use it as a monitor as well - the TV part of it doesn't work due to bad reception :P

My tv is as good as my monitor. Therefore buy tv.
