Jonathan Nolan on Season 5 at the San Diego Comic-Con:

http://m.au.ign.com/articles/2015/07/12/comic-con-person-of-interest-to-drop-the-mic-with-season-5

The main points:
- We haven't seen the last of Shaw.
- Finch and Root will try to rebuild the Machine, but may make it more overt ... which will raise some difficult questions.
- Fusco is finally going to start asking questions.
Nolan wasn't in a position to comment on whether or not Season 5 will be the last - but if it is, then he wants to end it on a high.

I'm sure I read somewhere it was going to be the last season, but even if it is, it's nice for Nolan to have twelve episodes to rap up things.
I just hope they can get back to the greatness of season three

They've got 13 now :D

Incidentally, IMDB is doing a thing at the moment where you can vote on your favourite episodes of things. The top 35 are here and there's 3 season 4 episodes of POI in there - If-Then-Else, Asylum and YHWH - along with 3 other episodes of POI. No other show currently has more than 2 episodes on the list

have you a link for that? i had a quick look on imdb and couldn't see it

Filming for S5 is now well underway in New York, what we definitely know is that
Iris makes a return
.

There are lots of BTS shots popping up on Twitter, Chris Fisher (@widgetfactoryco) does some epic B&W shots as well which are worth a look. The series writers and producers are acutely aware that the fanbase is growing and people are watching the filming, but the majority is studio based so we hopefully have an amazing, unspoiled 13 episodes to look forwards to after Xmas :D

Interviews with Michael Emerson (Finch), Jim Caviezel (Reese) and Kevin Chapman (Fusco)

Just had an awkward moment: Universal Channel is advertising a new series starring Sarah Shahi, and for a moment there I thought they had spoiled the fifth season in the name of a generic charm-your-way-through-the-rules legal procedural alongside a guy who is typecast in every sitcom as a musclebound dimwit.

As it turns out, the series is "Fairly Legal", which was cancelled before "Person of Interest" began (or at least before Shahi joined the cast). It's just never been broadcast here.

So I watched the first half of season one. Is the story going to evolve to one story line? I don't really like the fact that it feels lilke standalone episodes, where there is a hint of an underlying story arc.

Does it get better?

"Person of Interest" follows the Joss Whedon Rule in the first season: teach your audience the rules of the world first, then start in on the over-arching plot. Because maybe someone missed the pilot episode, and you don't want to isolate potential audiences because they were caught up in traffic. Besides, a large part of the over-arching story hinges on what can and cannot be done in this world.

The titles of some of the episodes of Season 5 have been revealed:

Episode 1: "B.S.O.D"
Episode 2: "SNAFU"
Episode 3: "Truth Be Told"
Episode 4: "ShotSeeker"
Episode 7: "6,741"
Episode 11: "Synecdoche"
Episode 12: ".exe"

I've been watching this on the Tele as we get it here, but I need to know which episode and season I'm at to resume watching

last epsisode
a DR got radiation poisining and had 24 hours to live, they managed to kill the guy responsible but with the DR dying they suspected something was wrong with the program and at the end of the episode it had been injected with some virus

The most up-to-date news from CBS is that POI S5 will air this spring. No date given as yet and the future of the show is still uncertain although the majority of the cast and crew are of the opinion that this is the final season, at least on CBS. It seems Netflix are interested but will be watching how S5 plays out and what the viewing figures are like I guess. And if CBS will actually give it up. They seem to enjoy holding everyone to ransom right now :odd:

Edit:

It really needed a resolution. It was quite obvious that Samaritan is nowhere near as altruistic as the Machine, and there was a lot that went unresolved.

i liked it all left in the wind and can could of made up your own mind on what happen

There's a difference between an open ending and just stopping in the middle of things witnout reason or explanation. Inception has an open ending, because you are left wondering if Cobb ever actually woke up or if he is still dreaming (it doesn't matter because the important point is that he accepts the reality presented to him as being real). But to end "Person of Interest" with the final episode of season 3 would be incredibly lazy since there was so much that went unresolved.

shame nothing really got resolved in season 4 from what i can remember of it, the promise of "AI battles" before the season started i think got me to hopeful for a bit more of a scifi orientated season, specially from what John Greer said near the end of season 3

now we have to clear everything up in maybe the last season of the show, hopefully the things Michael Emerson hinted at at comic-con will make the show very interesting
