Does anyone know what TVR stands for? Trevor Wilkinson was the founder so my only guess is that it stands for his first name. Anyone know any different?

Hey TVRKing might know pm him.

It does come from the founders name Trevor, I have a DVD on the history of TVR and it clearly states the origin of the company name.

What more interesting is the rumour that the final design of the Chimera was chosen by Peter Wheeler's dog!

It was the first all new model after he took over TVR and rumour has it that he could not pick a final design so he let his dog chose.

Personally I think the dog did well.

I heard off Top Gear the the design by the dog was in fact for the Chimera indicator hole and vent. Apparently the dog tried to savage the guy working on the model but missed and bit a hole in the clay instead. This was seen by Mr Wheeler who thought it was a nice touch and cleared for production!

In fact the question already included the answer. The first reply merely confirmed, the second one (yours) gave extra info to those who can make the difference between bold and normal characters.
The rest (including my post) is indeed bulls**t.

Not heard that particular one before, the one I posted is the rumour I have heard repeated the most, but a good half dozen dog/Chimera stories exist.

Being honest, I don't think I want to know which one (if any) is true, it would spoil the fun.

The one I posted was actually said by Peter Wheeler on a Top Gear test of the TVR Cerbera. Still have that on video somewhere, lol.
