Is it possible to own a TVR (any) in the U.S.? I've only seen them set up as the driver side being the left side. Is that legal? If not, can you get a TVR set up otherwise? Sorry for the dumb question.

Well, yes. For one thing, the driver side is the left side in the US. But even if you'd said what you'd meant (the driver's side is on the right), yes it's still legal if approved. Just ask the post office.

There is actually alot of right side driven cars in the United States. Ive seen alot of J-spec EVO's and STi's here that are right drive. And there are skylines and Integra's. They are around, just you need to be at the right place to see them.

I'll have to get pictures but a guy in my car club his dad owns one. Not sure which one though.

But, seriously, you can't exactly play GT3 and not notice the TVRs, and if you haven't played GT, what are you doing on this site?

I know John Travolta owns a 6. I've seen right hand drive mini's here in the US.

THe location of the driver isn't a big issue. It's more to do with safety requirements. Impact tests and the like.

It's a given fact that you'll be involved in some type of accident during your driving career here in the US. Which gives the insurnace companies the right to charge outrageous fees. Hence the other reason why it's tough to have a TVR in the US.

I thought TVRs were illegal in America because of emissions, or noise or something? I don't think the Swiss government like them very much.

It's not a mass-produced vehicle. That's why exceptions are made. Otherwise, I don't think things like Lamborghinis would be allowed in North America

Did he really just type that? Are my eyes playing tricks on me again? And for my third question, can we have a "Dumbest Question Ever" award in the next GTP Awards?

I'm still a believer that there are no dumb questions. . . just dumb people.

But that one almost made me change my tune.

Who gives a **** that he doesn't know what a TVR is? The only reason I know what one is is because of GT3. I only know that the game has some. Other than that I don't know anything about them, nor do I care.

If we brits didn't know what a pontiac was or some rubbish, they would blow their top. But this just shows their arrogance.

I don't know what most of those cars look like nor do I care. If I lived in America I probably would, but I don't. So I don't.

Do you expect everyone to care about TVR?
Edit: And Josh is just like that, he hates everything. :D

TVRs were sold in America back in the 70s and earlier. You can get a cool Vixen totally legally, for instance.
