She's a beauty!👍
How do you know you've put 52 miles on 'er already? Do you have an electronic trip/distance meter? I'm going to order this as soon as my Dad agrees to pay for it. I'm trying to get back into riding serious. I plan on riding 25-30 miles a day whenever I ride, and I figure it would be ten times easier to buy that, than it would be to go back in a car, and measure it that way. I could go to Charleston Air Force Base, and ride around their huge walking/biking path. It has a sign somewhere on the path that tells the distance all the way around, but that would get BORING riding around that 5-10 times... plus it's like a 45 minute drive from here.

Blah blah blah... I'm done rambling for now.:P

That's a nice one as well! How much was it?

How many miles do you ride a day? I always ride at least 15.6 miles per day - usually more.

$35 if i can remember correctly. I hit the trails at least 4 times a week 10 + miles per ride. I could not go as much this past week cause of rain and had to wait for the trails to dry up a bit.

Damn. $35? That's not bad - not bad at all!
I try to ride everyday if I can. Sometimes my ass hurts from my seat so bad that I can't ride, and to think that I paid an extra $60 for the damn seat.:irked: I hate it when it rains, and I can't ride. I've thought about trying to ride my bike on our treadmill when it rains, but I know it wouldn't work. I'd end up hurt, and smashed up against the wall probably.

Do you wear gloves when you ride? I wear a pair of Schinn biking gloves that I always wear. My friends always make fun of me for wearing gloves when I ride, but I couldn't care less what they think. I love wearing them, and not having messed up hands when I get done.

Man hell yeah i were gloves. My hands already are all rough and old looking. Dont want to make them look any worst. :P I use a pair of el cheapo $12 Trek gloves. They work just fine for me.

Man next year when I get my income tax return in, this will be my upgrade.

My hands used to be bad when I didn't wear gloves. They had calluses(sp?) on them, and they felt all hard, and nasty.:yuck:

BTW- By 'Schinn' I meant Schwinn. I believe my gloves were also like 12 bucks. They're not open fingered, but I don't really like open fingered gloves as much. Got 'em from Wal-Mart. They're good, though, and get the job done without costing an arm, and a leg.👍

$849 for that 9-Speed conversion?! Damn. What exactly is the purpose of that?:odd:

Man im a name brand freak. LOL  j/k

I just want my stuff to last a long time. This looks like a pretty good deal.

i'm also the other cyclist around here. Both you guys sound like trail dudes but i'm a roadie. I'm just not very good a mtn. biking. But anyway i always wear gloves and anytime i go riding i go at least 17 miles. But what makes me mad is i'd go farther but i'm constantly running off my dads schedule. I can't go riding on my own which is really stupid and annoying. So if i feel really strong today i can't go and ride 30-40 miles because my dad doesn't have time or he gets home too late.

I have aquired all my clothing over a period of time so i'm not rich by any means. I have a yellow $20 performance jersey (performancebike.com, really great stuff. I have their cyclocomputer, performance axiom 8.0c on sale now for only $19 freakin bucks. Buy it) and an $80 U.S Postal team jersey (christmas), Nike Dry-fit shorts (christmas), Performance road shoes, $60 (last yrs birthday). I also got some arm warmers from my aunt for last yrs. b-day and with my own money i bought and amazingly expensive Giro Pneumo helmet (same Lance wears) for a low, low price of $159!!!. Oh, and most importantly i have an $800 LeMond Nevada City (blue) which i got on sale for $500 (good deal).

I do most of my riding on paved roads. There's not many mountains in South Carolina.:irked: I go off into some woodsy trails every-now-and-then, though. Riding a mountain bike with a big front suspension is pretty inefficient on the road. A lot of energy is wasted through the shocks, and it's unaerodynamic as hell riding in an upright position.:irked: Bah.

I usually buy name brand stuff - Specialized - because it's 100 times better than a Wal-Mart bike, or something equivalent.

What exactly is the purpose of the 9 speed coversion? I just don't know what it's for.

Tonight's ride was brought to an abrupt end at around the 9.3 mile mark when I saw an old classmate of mine lay his '99 R6 down about 75 yards in front of me.:( I busted out my cell from the bag underneath my seat, and called the police station, and told them that an ambulance, or some kind of EMT, was going to be needed. By the time I got to him he had already stood up, and smashed his helmet onto the ground out of frustration. He was wearing a t-shirt, shorts, and f-ing sandals like a complete idiot!:banghead: One of his sandals was laying on the pavement about 15 yards from where he finally rolled to a stop - his bike about another 35 yards past him off in a ditch. When I rode up I could see he was pretty messed up. He had a nice cut on his neck, deep road rash on his left forearm, and his left ankle was all cut up, and his close were torn to hell. That's all I really noticed. I could tell he was quite upset about the whole thing so I tried talking to him to keep him calm. I asked him how he layed it down, and he said, "I think the back tire got loose in a patch of gravel when I shifted into third." Amazingly it didn't take long before a police officer arrived, and about 3 minutes later a firetruck came, and they bandaged him all up while he just sat there with a blank stare on his face. While they were fixing him up his Dad arrived freaking out. He was like, "Oh see, I told you! I told you! I knew this **** would happen. I knew I never should've bought you that bike!" Then he calmed down, and asked Chris if he was alright. I helped his Dad load the bike into the back of his truck. It was ****ED up. All of the fairings were smashed, the front wheel, and fork, were twisted 180 degrees to the left, the gas tank was all smashed in, the ass end of the bike was broke, and barely hanging on. Needless to say it was totalled. It's a miracle Chris was able to walk away from it without serious injuries. When the police started taking a report, I bounced out. This kind of stuff makes me sick to my stomach, and almost makes me not want to ride my streetbike.:irked:

What?! No mountains in South Carolina?!? You must live in the lower part of the state. I live in Greenville (check out the location) and there's plenty of mountains here or around here. Oh i see now where you said you're close to Charleston AFB. Yeah, that's Level Land (actual name of a town in Abbeville that i rode in last weekend and the name holds true). Where i live there's LOTS of hills and mountains to climb. So, there are plenty of mountains in good ole' South Cakalaky. You're just not fortunate enough to live near any. If you can give me your e-mail i'll send you some or (even better) if you can tell me how to post a pic i will. ( do you just copy and paste into the place where you type the post??! I might try it in test forum)

Yeah, I live in Mt. Pleasant now. Used to live on the Isle of Palms up until about 7-8 months or so ago. To attach a picture hit 'Submit Reply', then see where it says 'Attach File'? Click the Browse button on the screen, and find it, then just attach it.:)

Oh, So i can't post a picture from the My pictures folder. B/c i have a digital camera and i put the pictures in My pictures. So it has to be from a website. That'll suck if i can't. I have some really great pictures that i'd love to share.

Press 'Post Reply', then it opens the page to type the text in. Look for the browse button I've circled in red. From there you can open your My Pictures folder, and post pictures from it.
