Hi all
I sent my B-spec driver (not called Bob, but for his drunken-boxing driving style, Bacchus: level 25 binger) to do the Grand Valley 300km endurance event, and as per usual, gave him a bit more firepower than what I expected the rest of the field to have. So I popped the C63 AMG out and away he went - I only had the sport mediums but figured he'd be all right, right?
Wrong. He was sliding all over the place and using his tyres so much so that he was a very distant fourth by mid-race in a car vastly superior to all others. So to stop my cringing I quit the race, bought sport softs and started again - only to have him run away with the race, even in full hot-head mode, not sliding or lighting up the tyres once. To test that he didn't just get used to the track, I re-ran the first few laps of the race again using the mediums - and again he was all over the show, even when not "in the red" temperament-wise. (BTW I monitored him when the tyres were fresh and worn - same behaviour).
To test if he was really just an idiot I ran another race that had sports-hard as the tyre restriction, and even when I pushed him he did not get tail-happy in the AMG. It seems that Bacchus adapt his driving line, braking and accel points not on the tyres fitted, but on the tyre restrictions. Has anyone else found similar behaviour or should I just lay off the petrol fumes?
