I've got a feeling rare cars are a mythh, i've seen to much cars listed as 'rare' (here & on mygt) in my ucd. But i can't be bothered too much to figure it out exactly (don't have the time and pc).

Then I would be interested in prediction son how likely it would be to have the money for the more expensive cars early in the game days.
I think factoring these things in it would give a more accurate idea of would rare some cars actually are. For Example if a expensive car lets say 10 million dollars came up early in the game, you wouldn't have the money for it.
Oh and I just remember cars have levels. If a car comes up and you can't buy it because of your level then those cars don't count too.
Basically if it is impossible to buy the car it is rarer(is that a word).
I care about your observations, but already thinked about it. So far, car count INCLUDES cars showed up in the early days, when with the maximum effort you have no money, no level to buy it. If you think to the list like a cycle, when (hopefully) we will be back to day 1... levels and money will not be a problem.
On the other side, car delay CARES about that problem. A correct strategy for the beginner is to buy first rare cars which appears in the early days. Most of rare cars appear after day 600. Exceptions:
Takata Dome NSX #18 '03 show up first in day 3. Almost 90% of ml2 users start their timeline before 'universal' day 3, so all have to wait day 1165. It doesn't care at all. No one have money or levels to buy it at day 3.
Other cars with early showup, but impossible to buy:
NSX-R Prototype LM Road Car, day 16
2D Race Car #7 '67, day 11
Other cars you may see in early days are almost prize cars, so don't care at all:
- Delta S4 Rally Car '85
- Furai Concept '08
Corvette C5-R (C5) #64 '00, universal day 38. It returns on day 237 and is recommended new ML2 players buy it there, because next show up is in day.... 2359 (unless there are in the 1200-1700 gap).
There are other cars highy recommended to buy before premiums or expensive but not rare standards. They are all cars which doesn't appear after day 2000-2500 or so, with the assumption you are not grinding since the first day. For me, was day 2100-2200 when I started the 'last 100 standards' hunt.

FWIW, a few months ago, I made a
similar page a few months ago on GT5cars.net. Yours is more up to date though, as I haven't integrated the latest observations from the ucd thread. Also, I didn't pull out prize cars... I should probably at least indicate which are prize cars.
