Anyone else besides me ecstatic about the UConn women's basketball team breaking the NCAA basketball consecutive win record? Surely I can't be the only one. U-C-O-N-N UCONN UCONN UCONN!!!!

I'm not overly excited about it, but it is an amazing accomplishment. In the 89-game win streak they have won all but two of them by double-digits. Incredible.

Winning 89 straight is impressive, but it has NOTHING on the record set by UCLA. The talent pool in men's BBall is 20 times greater that that of women's. I wish people would stop trying to compare the two. It would be real easy for a team like Duke or UNC or any other consistent top 25 men's team to run off 89 straight if there were only 4 other teams with a remote chance of winning. Again, impressive, but not as special as Geno and just about everyone else makes it out to be.

It being NCAAW doesn't tarnish the greatness of the record being broken, at all.
