i have been trying to find any info on GTS about any UDP communication support.
after experiencing the immersion with such feature.
it would be hard for me to really enjoy racing without it.
also my rig is setup for such features. would be very disappointing to not be able to use it.

also any info on keyboard support? for us DIY guys with button boxes ect.
i've made my own usb buttonbox sequential shifter combo, using an arduino board which emulates a keyboard. i designed it to be compatible with project cars (ps4), but deep down i built it to be used on GTS.

i hope polyphony also implements secondary inputs
like that of pc's
ie

input---------primary-------secondary
---------------control--------keyboard
shift up------- " L1"----------- "E"
shift down-------"L2"----------"B"
mirror------" TRIANGLE"-------"T"
ect
ect.

this would eliminate having to go into setting to change button configs to accommodate specific cars.

anyway here is my shifter/buttonbox. heres hoping i can use it, come the release of GTS

this is a video vlog of the finalized build.

this is the actual testing of the shifter along with using UDP communication to indicate gear selection

yes i know; need to build a stronger steadier rig.

UDP is just a network protocol, so it's possible PD could pollute your LAN with spurious out of order packets. :D

In fact it would be really cool because I still have some sound synthesis stuff rigged to use UDP streams translated from LFS' various outputs...

I'm not sure about the keyboard support, never tried in the existing games, but I'd be surprised. If you can get it to look like a game pad instead, that might work, and "secondary controls" works by default on PS3 (with some shortcomings) because I could always control the game with a pad or my wheel, switching as necessary.

You would simply have to manually code each button on your custom hardware to look like the one it needs to look like on the pad to get the same behaviour.

Both UDP and keyboard button boxes work fine on PCars on the PS4 so no reason exists for them not being able to do it with GTS.

OP mentioned he already uses them in pCARS on PS4.

It would be great if possible, but I think we all know it's a long shot. The only reason pCARS has it is because it already had it on PC, where such things are more or less expected these days.

seeing as project cars has it, it would be (at least to me very disappointing) if PD does not implement these options. but knowing how PD works i wouldn't be surprised if they did not include such features.

i have been spoiled by PCars. the more immersion in a sim racer the more i enjoy it, otherwise it gets old quickly.

We are talking about a game where you cannot even customise core settings such as virtual mirrors, field of view, HUD, etc.
I would seriously doubt support for any additional external devices in the future.
