I'm sorry but I really don't understand that. If the group winners each have a separate pot, is it not possible for a runner-up to be drawn twice? Once from the Munich pot and once from the Paris pot, for example? None of this makes any sense and if there are already admissions that two teams have been deliberately kept apart and that teams from the same nation are kept apart, how can we trust the integrity of any of the draws?

It should be a completely open draw or nothing. I hate seeding, I hate group stages and I hate winners vs runner-up draws. There are so many things wrong with football and it drives me crazy.

They drew a Runner-up first and then the Group Winner pot was refreshed each time with the possible opponents...

I think it's pretty ridiculous keeping teams apart - if the fans kick off, the teams should be disqualified from the tournament. Simples.

Europa League draw is on live now... just like the CL draw but with twice as many balls and pots

That's so contrived.

Agreed.

I feel sorry for local Man City fans. They should have a lot of confidence, but can't even be there to watch the game. To me, a stadium filled with majority away support is a bigger punishment for Dynamo Kiev than an empty stadium, which indirectly creates a double standard, because Kiev fans are going to be allowed in at the gates of Eastlands for the return fixture.

As always, UEFA won't want to get their hands dirty. At least one club would attempt a boycott from future European competitions if it feels that its fans were unfairly punished, and it would open up a whole new world of trouble if both teams are booted, only seven teams progress to the QFs, meaning that one team would get a bye into the QFs, causing outrage from the other six clubs who had progressed fairly.

Looks like the end of the road for Arsenal and Chelsea, City have got a great chance on the other hand.

FACT, this is the third season in a row that Chelsea have draw PSG in the knockout rounds...

Champions League is back next week!

Looks like I jumped the gun there!

Champions League is definitely back tomorrow, here's the games...

Tuesday Night
Benfica v Zenit St Petersburg
Paris St Germain v Chelsea

Wednesday Night
Gent v Wolfsburg
Roma v Real Madrid

Rooney isn't part of the Man U squad tonight. He also didn't join them on the trip to Denmark.

Draxler's nutmeg and then the chip for the second goal was pure filth.

And what a response by Ronaldo about his away goal drought.

I saw that Jonas (from SL Benfica) scored a goal against Zenit and then, after that, he got a yellow card for taking his shirt off... :ill:

He's been Benfica's best signing in some time. Definitely should get a Brazil call up.
He has been in Benfica since 2014-15. Unfortunately, despite of Benfica winning back-to-back title in Primeira Liga (Liga Nos for Sponsorship reasons), he couldn't win the Silvered Ball, as its score in the last round was 4-1 against Marítimo.

However, to be honest in my opinion, he's one of the best brazilian players. And I agree with you: He should defintely be called for the Brazilian Selection Team. I saw a news that the Brazilian Selection Team is watching Jonas playing in Benfica.

Besides, I think it will be very hard to SL Benfica winning the Champions League because there are bigger teams such as Real Madrid, Barcelona and PSG.

Benfica were quite lucky to get an easy group but I can't see them progressing any further if they win against Zenit.

The Brazil striker role looks quite weak so I can see Jonas getting in.

Only because they have finished 2nd on Group C behind Atlético de Madrid. Otherwise, Benfica would probably have been in trouble on winning against the big clubs.

This weeks games

Tuesday
Arsenal v Barcelona
Juventus v Bayern Munich

Wednesday
Dynamo Kiev v Man City
PSV Eindhoven v Atletico Madrid

Pray for Arsenal!

First half done. Arsenal have been so disciplined that 'MSN' have had little chance and we had the better chances on the counter especially with the Ox missing a great chance early on. Really impressed so far but we need the end ball and finish on the counter. 0-0.

Will Arsenal do a very similar thing to when playing Bayern? Get dominated at home but stay strong and steal it on the counter? Then go away and get annihilated.....
