I think Man U will suprise everyone, they have a good record over Italien opposition aswell. I think Barca will knock Chelsea out, rendering their perfect season into an imperfect one. Arsenal have'nt got it easy but if they hold down at least a draw away, they can advance to the next stage. Liverpool, who knows what's going to happen. I don't rate their chances.

The goal doesn't make up for the mistakes that he made. Although an away goal is handy. Buy Arsenal had an abysmal game. What is happening to them? We were favourites at the beggining of the champions league.

Unfortuately 1-0 to Milan, but if United get the first goal away then I think it's still ours. We've come back from worse.

I saw the highlights of the Chelsea game, and as happy as I was to see them get beat Drogba shouldn't have been sent off, that was very harsh and I think it would've been Chelsea's game if he'd stayed on.

And DQuaN, Arsenal have never been favourites to win the champions league, they never do that well in it.

Yeah it's easilly recoverable, you only need a 1-0 win at home which I think you can do quite easilly. Barca arn't as good as the hype was making them out to be before the match. The winners of the Champions league this year will imo be either Man U or AC Milan.

Do you know what all the fuss was about half time in the chelsea match?

I pick Bayern as the champions this year, possibly over Barcelona, unless they meet before that. But if they don't, my guess is Bayern vs Barcelona.

I had higher hopes for Man Utd, too.

live4speed -- What happened was Mourinho is complaining because at half-time, he spotted Barcelona's coach talking to the referee. He's obviously seen the problem with that, and is now complaining to UEFA.

It's the first time Chelsea's lost two games in a row since Mourinho has taken over, too. :( And Drogba got hard-done by.

Tis True. At the beggining of the season when Arsenal were still on their unbeaten run, the bookies had AC Milan Arsenal as joint favourites.

Apparently, it's the first time Mourinho has lost two games in a row in his whole career!!.

At the beginning of the week, who would have thought that, out of the four English teams in the CL, Liverpool would win and everyone else would lose!

Not me, I find that the weakest English team in the CL is the only one to win rather amusing yet annoying at the same time.

Lol, Carrol's not made many mistakes and one of the few he has made he got away with, he's a good keeper, not the best out there but a very good one.

I don't like him. Both Arsenal and Man Utd need better keepers, in my opinion.

That's very crazy. What other teams has he coached?

I agree. It seems as if the English teams can't hold up well in International competitions. Although, that's just a broad observation, please don't shoot me with statistics. :scared:

Though, I think Chelsea would've done better with a more stable side, and definitely with Robben.

I saw the Chelsea Barca match and I really thought Chelase could have done it, it looked like they could have won convincingly until the sunbed king ref decided to send Drogba off.

Had they have had Robben, and Drogba wasn't sent off I think it would have been curtains for Barca in the CL.

On the other hand Barca played well, against 10 men its obviously going to make them seem better than they are. Chelsea of course "shut-up-shop" for most of the second half and Barca still found 2 goals, Maxi Lopez looks like a real danger man and Eto, hes on fire, he really took advantage of a sleeping defence to score the winner. Chelsea must have though they'd done enough at that point but Eto seemed like he never switched off and was very alert to the cross/shot that Lopez struck.

I dont think Barca will win at Chelsea and I still think Chelsea have a strong chance of going through, the next match will be awesome !!!

Oh well I guess it's over to 2005-2006 for us.

Oh shut up.

The most ironic thing is that the only player who scored against you was a Chelsea player. :P

I tell you what though, we did cheat to get that last goal. Carvalho practicly dragged the keeper to the floor, but we can't have a major win without controversy.

So if we win the Champions league, we will be the crap rich side that cheated it's way to the top.

I dont see why teams havent figured out how to beat Chelski. Just mark Terry out of the game at any set piece and their goals will dry up.

LONDON (Reuters) - Barcelona's Cameroon striker Samuel Eto'o said a melee at the end of Tuesday's Champions League match was sparked by a Chelsea steward racially abusing him as he walked towards the players tunnel.

"He called me a monkey," he told reporters after the game. "I understood it. He called me a monkey and I am very angry."

William Gaillard, UEFA's Director of Communications said: "If a formal complaint is made of course we will investigate it, but there will have to be some evidence of what happened.

"We will not let it rest if a complaint is made. If one individual has said something we would hope Chelsea will take action, but there must be some neutral witnesses also."

The match, a thunderous, passionate encounter which Chelsea won 4-2 to reach the quarter-finals 5-4 on aggregate, was full of superb football and devoid of any real trouble on the field.

Although the Barca players protested that Chelsea's fourth and deciding goal, scored 14 minutes from time by John Terry, should have been disallowed for a foul by Ricardo Carvalho on keeper Victor Valdes, the match was largely incident-free.

UGLY FRACAS

But there was an ugly fracas at the end. Chelsea's chief scout Andre Villas allegedly insulted the Barcelona bench and spittle was seen flying through the air.

Players and officials were involved in some physical tussles, but the matter was over almost as quickly as it began.

Eto'o added, though: "The mood surrounding the Chelsea bench was ugly, their coach's (Jose Mouirinho's) expression was ugly.

"If Chelsea win the European Cup it would be laughable. They are not a good team, they scored three quick goals because we let them, but the referee was very lenient to them.

"They say he (Pierluigi Collina) is the best referee in the world, I think he is one of the worst."

The tie was surrounded by controversy after an ill-tempered first leg following which Chelsea accused Barcelona coach Frank Rijkaard of attempting to influence match referee Anders Frisk at halftime.

Chelsea are under investigation by UEFA for sending their players late onto the pitch for the second half at the Nou Camp and for failing to attend a post-match press conference in Barcelona.

Three cheers to Moodyrinho and what he has brought to Stamford Bridge.

That there is bad losing on Barcelona's part. Yes, Mourinho isn't the happiest and friendliest manager in the world, but they can't hate him because his "expression was ugly". The racial slurr by Villas had no real relation to Mourinho, and they are dealing with it. The last goal was a little controversial, but there always has to be controversy these days surrounding Chelsea.

Accept the loss and move on. The fact that they let them score the first 3 goals isn't a sign that Chelsea are a bad team. It's a sign that Barcelona have bad and unmotivated defense. Calling Chelsea a bad team is wrong. They screwed up, or at least Eto'o did.

That there is bad losing on Barcelona's part

I wasnt aware that being upset because the game winning goal wasnt legit is now considered "bad losing".

but there always has to be controversy these days surrounding Chelsea.

Thats quite a lame statement. Basically you are excusing this controvery based the amount of controversy surrounding Chelsea in the past. Thats like saying "Oh well, that guy just robbed that lady. But its ok, he robs all the time."
Accept the loss and move on

That is right up there with JohnBM01's "You will now reply".

The fact that they let them score the first 3 goals isn't a sign that Chelsea are a bad team

Quite right, if you would please show me where I said the contrary I would appreciate it - in the context of your reply, you make it sound like i did.

It's a sign that Barcelona have bad and unmotivated defense

So first Chelsea arent a bad team. Now Barca is a team with a bad defence. That implies chelsea werent good to have scored. Well which is it? Did chelsea come across a bad defence, or where chelsea just playing great football against a good defence?

Mourinho, needs to shut the **** up, and so does Eto'o. Although he's been given a warning by uefa so I don't think he'll start up again. Just remember this, he's a good football manager but as a person he's a ****ing arsehole.

Yorp.

Terry isnt your top scorer, but he does get crucial ones ;)

Also, ha at Real.
