Which car interoir is the ugliest, in your opinion?

Remember, standards have changed, so post something that is ugly compared to other cars from it's time period.

Remember, this thread is useless without pics!

I'll get us started with the Impala, before it's redesign:

This is pretty bad too (Bonneville)

Uh, any year/age restrictions? Otherwise you’re going to get a crapload of posts about various ’80s cars.

Anyway, I agree with those two – the Bonneville’s looks like an already ugly block of plastic that was left in the sun too long.

Well, I think posting 80's cars is okay--just remember that standards have changed, so post something that is ugly compared to other cars from it's time period.

(fixed first post)

Very ugly.

Remember the bonfire I started […]
Ooh, thanks for reminding me of another atrocity!

See that fissure running across the dash? I bet somebody has fallen in and died in one of those.

I get a free rental car when my car is in the shop and I got an '06 Chevy Malubu -- Which HAS to be the most DREADFUL interior EVER!

Sage - I learned to drive in one of those, it was horrid in every way.

JCE3000GT - It's not going to win any pageants, but it seems okay to me.

Seriously? Why? Was it in lieu of a prison sentence or something?

Whoever designed that thing was a sadist.

 Haha. It was a driver's ed. car. In Mass you get an insurance discount if you take a driver education class, so it was well worth the $180.

All the cars were high-milage (think 150,000 miles) Cavaliers or Sunfires. You can image what kind of condition they were in. One of them dumped a full pan of oil in my friend's driveway, then the person who was practicing drove away unaware...

I don't think I'm the only one, but I absolutely hate the new Civic's interor. Material quality seemed to have taken a nosedive, as even the plastics in my '96 Jetta seem to be of higher quality. More than anything, I hate the guages, and even worse is the placement of the emergency brake handle.

About the Chevy Malibu's Interior: It isnt that bad... I've driven a few different ones, and I thought the interior was pretty nice. Quality wise, it is pretty sub-par, but the layout and overall design is spot-on. Unfortunately that is the problem GM has with interiors; Poor quality materials that hold back otherwise good layouts and overall good designs.

It may look nice, but it's freakin' uncomfortable and very non-user-friendly. The buttons aren't labeled and you have to press eveyr button to find out what it does. Plus, it all seems made in China. We rented it (it's a Renault Megane, by the by) and turning the A/C wheel thingie, it came off.

IMO, that looks like something I'd find in a supercar (the gauges).

But I think the cake definitely goes to the Yaris and the Renault Twingo, with their center gauges :yuck:

Am I the only who thinks the Sunfire speedometers look like something of the Corvette?
I'd agree--in fact, they are even more similar to to Camaro/Firebird dash:

(sorry best pic I could find)

But, while plain and functional, none of these are really pleasing to the eye.

Which reminds me...does anyone else think only having the tach silver-backed makes the TrailBlazer SS's gauge pod look stupid?

The Aston Martin from the 80's:the lagonda

it was one of the worst ideas ever
Heh...they actually used CRT displays, I believe!

If it was black, I'd agree it'd look better.

The SS is the sport truck though, right?

Ding ding ding...we have a winner.

Yup.

This one.

EDIT: Funny, it seems every other car posted here is a Pontiac  They sure did do some depressing interiors, but they have been trying for something better lately.

Well, I don't know how the interior looks, but the exterior of Pontiac's minivan is :yuck: .

Thank god it's going away.

Well...while it isn't the ugliest, it certainly is one of the most boring ones.

Prius is pretty terrible. Mine looks much worse than this one, as it's tan seats/carpets, and has 60k on it. The material quality is just terrible, the little pads that cushion panels when they open/close fall off, and the clear/shiny panels on the console and radio panel look cheap and hold fingerprints forever.

Actually, the Tribeca isn't bad once you get use to it, everything is right where you need it and easily accessable.

The Ion has a terrible interior:

The Grand Am is probably the worst I have to drive every now and then. And to top the horrible look, poor materials, and terrible quality, they ALL have a wet-dog smell that is incureable and also plagues the Alero.

I also thought that the 1st gen Eclipse/Talon interior was poorly planned. The materials were ok though.

The Ion's interior is actually pretty decent. My buddy has the Redline and I'm surprised how nice it is not to have a big ass gauge cluster in front of you.

*McLaren*
Wth is with that deal on top?
I know it tells the speed, but does it really need to be THAT big?

In regards to the prius? It does absolutely nothing. All that's to the right of what you see lit up is the "airbag on/off" indicator. It's really a terribly designed car.

Tribeca's not bad at all, in person. The only thing that puts me off is the front-end design.

I actually rather like the new Civic interior. It looks really cool lit up at night. If only they'd stayed blue, instead of the red they chose, for the Si.

One of my friends also has a Redline, the interior is still "meh" IMO, but the base Ion with the bumper-car steering wheel is just terrible.

I never liked the centre console of Evolution VII, VIII, IX lancers, the of the interior is fine.
