The Euro was never such a bad idea in concept, the main failure was allowing countries with such poor economies into the Euro zone.
And despite this, the Euro has been getting comparatively stronger against the Pound for years. Likewise the UAE Dirham, and this coming from a country that's been having financial woes for quite some time. When you see how even poor economies have a stronger currency than us, it puts into perspective how bad the Pound has been recently.
I've always been pro-Euro to some extent, mainly because I don't care for patriotism when it's ill-placed. Changing some coins doesn't suddenly mean we'll all start taking siestas or eating bratwurst. Every Euro country's coin has a different design - there would be nothing stopping us putting the Queen's mug on one side of the coin as we do already.
Now probably isn't the best time, as our main priority as a country is bringing our economy back up to the levels it used to be in the late 90s when it was quite strong.
