Hail a cab without falling drunkenly into the gutter
Calling a cab could get a lot easier in future thanks to 'Zingo'. It's a new mobile phone system developed for Manganese Bronze the makers of London taxis.
The system monitors the location of taxis via GPS and feeds that data into a booking system. To hail a cab, users of O2 and Vodafone mobiles will be located via the cell that their phone is operating in and connected directly to the nearest free taxi to request a pick up.
The system will go live in the spring.
