Unable to join session (ever)

Is this a common issue?
Is there a workaround?

I’ve only ever been online once so far across several different sessions. Just keeps saying “unable to join session” (and tells me to play offline). My current internet speed is 270mb download, 45mb upload so it’s not the internet.

When I test my internet connection on my XB1, I’m online no problem. But Horizon 4 only ever shows me a red ‘!’ warning in-game.

Doesn’t entirely ruin things for me since I prefer single player anyway, but I did enjoy seeing random players driving around my world that first time I started the game.

Is this a common issue?

Today I've been getting this error repeatedly. Never seen it before today.

My guess would be a temporary server issue.

Had the same issue earlier. It's fixed, whatever it was.

Fixed now anyway, been online no problem. Thought maybe it was a 'new player' thing where I needed to reach a certain milestone to unlock it
