So, I was sitting playing LBP2 (flying a UFO coincidentally), when I was startled by a horde of flaming objects flying through the sky (pretty close). There must have been about 25-30 of them and they were glowing orange and engulfed in flames. By the time they passed my window and I ran to the other side of the house to see them again, but they were already gone.

My theory is they were craters or something, or what was left of something being exploded. Any other theories?

Sorry the descriptions so bland. :)

Flying craters? Right...

Are you sure they weren't just Chinese lanterns? It could have even been fragments that broke off a small meteor, who knows.

 I meant a meteor...(or a shooting star, something like that)...

And I live in Britain. :)

Someone mentioned something like this on my facebook earlier but I'm in the midlands so I doubt it was the same thing as you saw.

Quick google search turned up that this was an expected meteor shower over Great Britian, posts up to a month ago and more have today's date as the predicted landing.

One of my friends on Facebook mentioned seeing something like that, too. Although she lives on the England/Wales border.

I live in South Lanarkshire (Near Biggar, for those who know where that is), I'll google it right now.

Do you know if anyone else saw them?

No-one else in my house, don't know about the rest of the street.

It was really epic to see. :)

Since it's the top result on the BBC right now, it'd be safe to say that, yes, other people saw it.

More info from the BBC earlier suggesting that it could be satellite debris burning upon entering the atmosphere.

If that story is just, the unknown flying objects can't be anything but a glance of extraterrestrial phenomenons or objects...

You could catch the shape of the objects clearly?
