Uh... duh... he did answer perfectly well. The reason people (me included) wish to drive the C9 is because it is a car steeped in history. It also happens to be quite fast, but that is secondary.

Just because you are ignorant of the background/history of the car doesn't make his answer a bad one. It just makes you ignorant.

What he said. :)👍 It's just a cool freaking car.

I can't wait to drive it in PAL. Shame the S-16 test is no longer in the C9. I guess I will just have to drive it in free-mode on the ring and see how fast a time I can get. I'm assuming you can do this?

Is that HP figure the one that you see on the graphs when you are adjusting the settings? as that tends to be higher. Also what is the weight (I would look myself but I'm in the middle of the F1 Champ.) I'm trying to figure out which of the group C cars has the Highest P/W. So far my best is the 88C-V. Down to 1211 HP after a bunch of endurance races and an oil change. I belive it weighs 850KG

technically speaking, don't you mean lowest PWR?

Omnis

What he said.

Low power-weight ratios are good (more powerful and weigh less - think F1 car). High power-weight ratios are bad (less powerful and weigh more - think Vitz).

more like that Honda Life van thingy...that old jalopy 29.xx PWR hunk of metal.

Well, it is an arbitrary definition, as it really doesn't make sense to talk about 'highest' or 'lowest' ratios. A ratio is just that - a ratio. It is constructed of numbers, but is not simply a number itself.

5:2 is a ratio. 5 is not a ratio, and nor is 2. Nor is 0.498. They are numbers.

So when people talk about 'power to weight ratio' and write 0.462, they are not really writing the power to weight ratio.

Better to say 'highest power per weight'.

Correct. This Is what I meant (Highest Power)/Weight. :sly:

Yeah, you did. You were right to do that. If I am honest, I didn't actually read your post much before posting mine, I was posting in reply to what Omnis said!

Anyway, I think I have decided what I am going to do. I'm not much of a planner, but I think I am going to do something like:

a) Get GT4.
b) Get all the gold licenses.
c) Buy a Mazda miata or something and start winning races.
d) Complete the beginner hall.
e) Complete the professional hall.
f) Win the Nurb 24 hours (in B-spec mode) to get an F1 car.
g) Win the F1 championship in the F1 car, winning every race by as big a margin as I can manage (I know you can win this in a non-F1 car, but it's an F1 championship so I want to drive an F1 car).
h) Drive the Sauber C9 off into the sunset.

Edit: When it says 'complete' the professional hall, etc, does that mean you have to win every race and every championship in that hall? Or just every championship?

all c-class cars weigh the same so id go on what your toyota weighs

im in the middle of some races ill let you know when i check for real

the hp shows up at the bottom left of the screen when i select it in my garage, also when adjusting the settings, so its the high one.

I certainly don't consider the opening of his reply to be "perfectly good", sounded like a big heap of sarcasm to me. I asked a simple question and he gave me an answer that had nothing to do with my question. I didn't ask for the history of the C9, I asked why everyone is so obsessed with trying to get it.

Did you even read my thread? The car is a joy to drive in the game! daymn, chill out bro why get so pissy over something so little. Life is too short to be wasted like this.

kFMkII
You've got to win everything you can enter in the beginner hall and everything in the pro hall to get the extreme hall.

Yes, but that doesn't quite answer my question - does that mean every single race or every championship? I assume every race, that's what your answer suggests. But it's not exactly clear!

Just because I could care less about tha history of the car and am only concerned with its in game perfomance doesn't make his answer a good one. As I said before, if you don't have anything positive to add to my question, shut the **** up.

There are LOTS of cool cars in the game, just wondering what the obsession was with this one since thread seems to pop up about it all the time. I thought my question was rather simple but it seems there are quite a few idiots here who don't know the answer but would rather give sarcastic remarks, I guess that's what you deal with on a message board full of children.

Not pissy about anything, asked a simple question and got a few ignorant answers. Shortly after, the question was answered and still had to listen to a few more ignorant comments. Like I said, on a message board full of children, this is what is to be expected.

You're the only one acting like a child.

Ok, my bad, I misunderstood you. Most of them aren't championships, but individual races in a category, like "win all three of these races at some point to have won this category," as for the championships, you only have to win the championship based on points at the end, you don't have to win every race along the way. I'm in a long series right now so I can't check, but I think there aren't any championships in the beginner hall and there's only one or two in the pro hall.

You really need to look up the meaning of sarcasm. I did beat a ZO6 with a Civic, so guess what, that makes it a FACT - not exactly sarcasm.
Not to mention you were questioning the C9 with the statement:
"I routinely blow that car away using the Toyota C88 or Mazda 787 race cars all the time."
So my response was 100% on the ball, why? Just because I can beat a computer driven ZO6 with a Civic doesn't mean the ZO6 isn't a desirable car to own in the game.
Does this make sense now or should I draw up a picture in crayon for yea? What colors work best for you, primary or secondary? :dunce:

And I'm obsessed about most of them. I want them all.

Blkout
just wondering what the obsession was with this one since thread seems to pop up about it all the time.

Well, the car is pretty damn rare, since you can only win it in one race or so. And it has a lot of history and since none of us will ever drive one... the game is as close as you will get.

Blkout
I guess that's what you deal with on a message board full of children.

Newsflash: this is a video game based on real cars. Don't be too surprised if people chat about the very cars the game is based on.

Yawn. I'm done feeding the trolls. I suddenly remember what they say about arguing over the internet...

Blkout, will you please get over yourself and move on with your life? For the good of the thread please drop the subject. Its getting quite annoying to see you going on and on about this, even though you've previously been asked to stop. If you have a problem with someone plese take it up via a Private Message, as that is the proper way to deal with such transgressions.

On a final note, you should listen to your own advice: "if you don't have anything positive to add, up."

Well.. back on topic a little d8} Just got the Sauber and it's a beast of a car, that's for sure. Good luck getting it everybody who's searching for it. The GT races take so long, but they're not too difficult.

No, his answer was perfectly good. How was he to know you were an ignorant (not an insult; if you 'could care less about tha history of the car' that makes you ignorant by definition) person who only cares about corvettes, and didn't *want* to know about the history?

If you didn't want to know about the history, you should have said 'and btw don't tell me about the background of the car, just give me it's in game performance details'. But you didn't say that.

Your question was 'What's the obsession for the C9?' If you want only to know about the car performance in game and not it's rich history, *you should have said that*. But you didn't, and that's why everyone in this thread is laughing at you.

Btw thanks for the info kFMkII.

One can also think of a ratio as a fraction. 5:1 is the same as 5/1, which is 5. 5:2 would be 5/2 or .250. A ratio of .462:1 is the same as .462/1 which is .462...
