Getting ready to kick this into life!

Calendar:

Round 1: East Riding Stages x Iberia
8 stages
Round 1 see's us taking to the fearsome roads of Iberia in a bid to replicate the fast, flowing nature of the East Riding Stages. In real life the East Riding Stages features big cuts and weaving roads. Whilst not a perfect replication, the weather should help make it feel like Britain in February...

Round 2: Carlisle Stages x Finland 5 stages
A compact route across the Finnish stages aims to replicate the Kielder Complex based Carlisle Stages. Smooth gravel roads which can carry some serious speed - sounds just like Finland, right? A short itinerary means there's only 5 stages here, but it'll be fast and furious.

Round 3: Jim Clark Rally x Central European Rally 11 stages
After the quick flash of the Carlisle Stages the Jim Clark will prove to be a much more unforgiving challenge for drivers. The Central European Rally replicates the Scottish lanes with some fast and challenging stages. The first leg of stages sees us running into the night for even more jeopardy.

Round 4: Grampian Forest Rally x Poland 9 stages
Summer has arrived in Scotland! Typically a warm (or as warm as Scotland gets) rally in August means this should be dry, dusty and fast. If only we still had the Perth & Kinross rally from Dirt Rally 2.0 as this would be perfect replacement. In the meantime Poland will do the job with a mixture of technical sections with a high average speed. The first leg sees drivers heading into the dusk before the second leg is a more conventional route.

Round 5: Rali Ceredigion x Corsica 8 stages
Just like real life, each leg of the Rali Ceredigion is counted as a full points scoring rally, so for the first leg we head to Corsica to replicate these fast but treacherous Welsh roads. Expect drama aplenty, if you can make the finish...

Round 6: Rali Ceredigion x Monte Carlo 5 stages (includes DLC)
A change of scenery awaits for the final short blast of the Rali Ceredigion. 5 stages aim to replicate the final day of the Rali Ceredigion, including the somewhat damp final day. I've tried to pick some of the faster Monte Carlo stages which mirror the feel of Wales a bit more accurately than the Col de Turini.

Round 7: Cambrian Rally x Chile 7 stages
In the iconic forests around North Wales the real Cambrian Rally heads to roads like Brenig, Alwen and Clocaenog - as the best 'fake' Wales that we've got Chile will work nicely! Last year bathed in beautiful autumnal light, it proved to be a fitting Championship finale. Hopefully our replica will do the same!

The Cars:
I'd love to be allowing the full plethora of Rally2 and Rally4 machinery that the BRC welcomes, but as we're limited to just one class we'll go with the Rally2s.

Custom liveries replicating the 2025 competitors is definitely encouraged! For reference;
All Rally2 cars are allowed though!

Rules & Regulations:
  • Light track degradation - these are typically the first cars on the road, so let's give them the best conditions 🤓
  • Damage - will likely not be hardcore, there's some tough itineraries in here with minimal services in places (and Corsica)...
  • Custom setups are allowed - this does benefit those who can test but it's nice to have the flexibility
  • Round length - TBC but probably 10 days

Just putting this out as a bit of a feeler before I sink any proper time into it.

I'm potentially looking to set-up a unofficial 2024 British Rally Championship inspired WRC league to run through the next few months. I've outlined some quick highlights below;
  • Rally2 - all cars including the GR Yaris
  • 6 rounds with equal split across tarmac and gravel events
  • Would be aiming to replicate, as closely as possible, the itinerary of the real events including service breaks and overnight stops
  • Will also aim to match the overall distance of each rally as I think that could make an entertaining variable
  • Weather will also be tied to the real events from this season - aiming to replicate when that weather came in if I can
  • Even length either a week or 10 days - TBC
  • Damage level - TBC
Calendar
Obviously with a lack of British based events a little bit of imagination will be used to find a match to the events...as best as possible anyway. I'm not fully decided on each of these yet, but to give a rough idea;
  1. North West Stages - 10 stages / 1 service - Croatia
  2. Severn Valley Stages - 7 stages / 1 service - New Zealand
  3. Jim Clark Rally - 14 stages / 3 services - Central European Rally
  4. Grampian Forest Rally - 9 stages / 3 services - Poland
  5. Rali Ceredigion - 14 stages / 4 services - Corsica
  6. Cambrian Rally - 7 stages / 1 service - Chile
Rally locations aren't 100% confirmed, but would appreciate any feedback!

Would this be something people are interested in competing in?

Thought you might be interested! Can totally understand for most people that finding the time is the key aspect.

I'm keen for the championship to have momentum but if it helps to run the rounds for slightly longer then that's something I'd be open to. It's all up for discussion at this point 👍

I'll be up for this. I'm struggling a bit again recently but this seems like fun. Personally I'd vote for slightly shorter rallies. Around the 9-10 stage mark but that's just my preference.

When we starting!!!!?

:cheers: :lol:

Sorry guys, work and personal life has a got bit hectic so haven't had much time to dedicate to this! :ouch:

Might be something I can pick-up in Feb, maybe we'll run it in conjunction with the real championship and base it on the 2025 season instead.

Keen to kick this into gear now, potential calendar would be based on 2025 BRC season and would be (maybe) as follows;

1. East Riding Stages x Iberia (could have done with an Ypres equivalent really!)
2. Carlisle Stages x Finland
3. Jim Clark Rally x Central European Rally
4. Grampian Forest Rally x Poland
5. Rali Ceredigion (Leg 1) x Mediterraneo
6. Rali Ceredigion (Leg 2) x Monte-Carlo
7. Cambrian Rally x Chile

Splitting the Ceredigion legs allows for a bit more of a varied rally, and replicates how it's two separate points scoring days. Rally length would be vaguely like real life, but I'd try to keep it to around 10 stages or less.

What do we think?

Looks like a perfect itinerary, I assume this would be with WRC2 cars?

Yup, I think it's the way to go for this championship. Gives people an opportunity to replicate real liveries if they want too.

One of mine from last weekend at the opening round - as one of the official photographers for the BRC now!
Amazing as ever, I do follow you on Instagram and some of/all of your photos from the first round are just outstanding. Particularly a fan of the low angle tracking shot of the Castrol Yaris and one of the no.11 Fiesta going through a junction with the signpost in the background.

Thanks man! Very kind of you to say so.

Looking forward to seeing what we're able to come up with on the next events 🤓

I've just set this club up now, so will be working on the itinerary and start date soon; https://racenet.com/ea_sports_wrc/clubs/26940

First post updated with details of the league! Hoping to get it started early next week to give people time to prepare liveries and do a bit of pre-season testing.
