I see so BC4 (board challenge 4) is held at GT3Times. Need to register over there then - shoot I bet I dont even make the grade for the qualifier, I'll just wait until its out before I register at GT3Times.

Since I don't have an X-Port, the whole replay verification sounds like too much of a hassle for me, so I'll sit out this board challenge, and wait for the first GT4 board challenge (hopefully it'll be online!).

I can do replay verification for the board challenge for ya Ev0. I'm in toronto as well, and I've got a Sharkport/X-port. Shouldn't be too much of a hassle

Oh, and just to add a little to the "replay verification thing" IT IS A REQUIREMENT Not a reccommended, not a suggestion, not an idea, 100% verification is required, and expected, and already been through 2 full seasons of Board Challenge.

So, if you want to race for a team, either be prepared to buy an x-port or MAXDrive, or a second memory card (if need be) and snail mail your mem. card to someone, or if you are lucky enough, you can drive to someones house who lives in your area. (It seems this site attracts a lot of people from the Toronto area... who also seem to never want to be challenged... )

This could change everything for me Where do you live in Toronto? It would have to be accesible by public transit, since my parents won't drive me for something like this (but this might not matter since I am taking my G2 test in late October, depends on when the challenge starts).

Is there going to be a qualification race for team GTP, or is there a qual race for the entire board challenge? And how will the qual race be run (1 event each for track, rally, and wet, multiple short races per discipline?)?

Ive never been good at the rally races on GT hopefully I can either avoid them or have to run them to get a little better !!

Last time some of the boards held their own qualification races - others just grabbed a team of 10. GTP had a qualifying race - a one-off, two-lapper.

Lots of names there.

I figure many of them are out since they don't have replay support.
Then another chunck are thrown out because of loyalty to other boards.
Also, some people aren't even playing gt3 any more.

All in all, I think that there are over 10, but which ones?
(BTW, I'm sorry, I mean no insults to the great drivers from divisions 2 & 3)

Qualification race.

Last time around we did a qualification race for the team, not the challenge.

The way it works is laid out on the page linked by some one else @ leycote (or something).

The qual race was really just our way of letting a few members earn a spot on the team (I was one who had to earn it).

Fellas like Mr P, RER and MIH didn't need to worry about qualifying for the team.

This time around I think the problem will be getting all the better div 1 drivers to commit early.
I doubt we will hear from MIH any time soon (I just never see him any more).
Same goes for RER and few others.

Then there are questions about racers like ODP.
ODP, you out there?! :echoes:

Now, regarding how to do all the qualification race work...
Not sure if I mentioned it before, but someone impartial should organize it.
Mr P, Lotus, one of you two, or maybe boom?

Point is, I would like to see the gtp do well this year and there is enough time that we might do well if we prepare ourselves ( acting like I'm not gonna have to earn a spot like everyone else )

Man, speaking of that, I hope I can keep up.
If all of the best pro/div1 drivers come to this area at once, I am done for.

Then again, I have been getting back into gt3 lately with all of the recent races, so who knows.

while this all does sound enticing, and I thoroughly enjoyed representing GTP last year, I just dont think I can commit myself this year. I hate to admit it, but my fire for GT3 has all but burned out. I just cant play it like i used to. I really am trying to get back into it, but its just not keeping my attention like it used to. So with that, I know there are many dedicated and skilled racers here who are more than capable of representing GTP, both old faces and new. Good luck to all who qualify, and good luck to the ones who eventually get picked! 👍 I'll definently be keeping my eye on the progress of our team

Too bad you're not really racing much any more.
For some of you newer guys, take note... IDAFC was a prime rival of mine who I could only rarely beat.
So he wasn't just div 1... Instead, he was competitive.

I will be posting a Race very soon with a 4 week deadline for all interested drivers to keep on their Toes and see how they Perform and If they deserve to make the Cut 👍

I expect All Replays to be saved and either a replay posted after the Race or Full Loggerdata upon Demand Believe me! The Admins of the Board Comp will be more Demanding for proof of Race ... call this a trial run

Expect races varying from a Hotlap to a 20 lap Race in the Board comp, Tyre Damage, Wet Race in Full Mods, Full mod Rally ... etc ... anything goes!
So to be sure you are Interested still? and the best way we can weedle this down to our best 10 is to take a shot at the Race I post, which will be Tonight sometime, It will be a 5 lapper Remember there's a 4 week deadline on it so take your time .. no real rush
