"Collecting without earning/deserving...where's the satisfaction??"
I'm sorry mate, thats some more of the fascist BS I'm seeing here. Who made you the Supreme Decider of What is Satisfactory to the General Public? If you find grinding 300 races for 3 cars something to be extremely proud of and feel like you have fulfilled some sort of deluded purpose, by all means proceed to pat your own back, just don't try to shove your fake sense of grandeur and satisfaction down the rest of our throats. You like grinding, we like collecting/trading/duping whatever the hell it is, doesn't bother you in any way does it? We sure as hell did not call you stupid for not trading, so don't come here acting high and mighty and preach on us for doing something we like which is not pissing any of you off.

What was wrong with GT5 before the update? You still could grind out your way through 100 races for a car while we would trade for it.

What has changed after the update? You still grind out 100 races for a car while we guys who trade are screwed over.

So if you have enough time to come here, view a petition that does not concern you in any way at all just to post some dull speech on what is the true definition of satisfaction and which kind of people should play GT5, you have too much time on your hands. This goes out to everybody who doesn't support trading, even though it does not affect them in any way possible. We don't care much for your opinion, so don't waste your breath.

Very well said 👍

THIS IS MY OPINION I cannot see the rationale behind having every car in the game without have earned them fairly. The select few who play through the game and purchase cars with the credits gained should feel quite proud. I understand the desire to own cars aquired this way. However, you could start a game now and have every car if you had that kind of time, without ever playing--just through trading and dupping, rinse repeat. If all you want is to have the cars, look at them and trade...merely open a mygranturismo.net account. You can keep them in the virtual garage and not have to pay for the game. Collecting without earning/deserving...where's the satisfaction?? This is a simple just another case of reason without purpose. END OF OPINION

I have traded a few times, but for cars that I raced non-stop almost for weeks without getting. 300+ races and never saw the three cars I wanted in the UCD. I earned those cars and only after I exhausted myself did I give into trading.

And nearly 80% of established traders here have played through more than 60% of GT5, so your argument that people who trade for more cars do not play the game is just more nonsense assumption.

I'd send you any colored x2010 just for speaking the truth, well said brother.

Trading included chatting up with people about cool cars, life, girls, world affairs and everything in between. I've met some cool people in the marketplace and it saddens me to see the condition it is in now.....lifeless....

Why can't i trade a million credit car but i CAN however buy a used Xanavi GTR '03 for 747,356 credits, spend 345,000 for a chasis repair, and another 300+ thousand for an engine repair? How is that fair, when i can trade someone a Hiroto GTR i got on lvl 1000 ticket for a 0 mile version of the xanavi? That's just plain idiotic. Marketplace = ruined (for now)

I loved trading as well, it increased interaction among people as opposed to the sit-at-home-and-grind-cars BS that some other morons are so happy about. So what do you do after playing 3 hours and buying 1 car? Feel like you've actually bought it in real life, pat your own back and say "Jolly good job I say Old Chap"...? Garbage.
I had a lot of fun on the marketplace too. It is effectively ruined now.

Thats exactly what i said, you have your own views and I have my own, To get cars I have 2 options, trade with others and in the process help others out and make new friends or I can race the same lap for 3 weeks and get one car. I'd choose the former any day due to the fact that I have a life outside the PS3.

The fact that you think racing the same race non-stop for three weeks for getting one car is an achievement just makes me feel sorry for you.

PD made it so you have to work hard to earn cars, then, someone found an exploit, the exploit went viral and a ton of people started exploiting this and using several accounts to duplicate cars, sell them on ebay etc.

PD then decides they need to fix the exploit and put the game back to the way it was originally intended, where people earn their cars and cannot send them to the masses after they duplicate them.

So all of you are mad at PD for somewhat putting the game back to what it was originally intended to be. If you don't like working for the cars, don't play their game, don't expect PD to cater to people who want free cars.

Hmm, since you have made yourself the public speaker for PD itself, what with all the rules of how we should play a game we waited 5 years for and spent 60$ for, only for it to be plagued with faults, let me ask you something. So you're saying PD made a mistake while developing this game? That in the 5 years of time they had to keep us waiting they couldn't forsee something as basic as this? Among so many other faults this game is teeming with? All those rubbish textures of the standard cars and BS damage mechanics?

So basically we should be happy with 80% rubbish looking cars
We should be happy with the measly number of races they have given us.
We should be happy at the prospect of wasting countless hours grinding out races to win cars.
We should be happy with the miserly allocation of credits for each race which hampers us getting cars with any form of quickness.
We should be happy that we have waited 5 years for this game only to be disappointed.
We should be happy that one of things that kept this game interesting, i.e. trading has been so abruptly ended without so much as a justification, notification, anything, just on the whim of a studio.

I say SCREW THAT. Sure this game has brilliant physics, graphics, the racing feels great and real enough for a console, great roster of cars, but it is also filled with flaws. Among this was the gem that was the marketplace and that has been ruined. So yeah SCREW THAT. Don't tell me how I should play or enjoy a game I paid money for. You play it your way I play it mine.

You're forgetting that it was PD that allowed the exploit to be found in the first place. They allowed us to copy our game saves in a patch. The game didn't originally come with this ability. PD brought it upon themselves.

I want to say this and I hope you really digest this. Your opinion is respected but this is YOUR opinion as you've stated. This is called a video game. If guys want to hack it with cheat codes, trade for cars, this is their desire. Really who cares? I don't understand why people get so wrapped up with this. Again this is a Video Game. Congratulations for those who have the time to play countless hours on end to save up pennies for that 10+ mil car. In the gaming world you've really put in your time. In the real world you've really blown coutless hours for a _____ing video game. Some people want instant gratification. As long as it isn't harming anyone elses gaming experience I don't see what the problem is. It's hilarious.

MY PERSONAL OPINION is many GT5 among other hard core game users need to get out for some sunshine. There is something called the real world that you should try involving in your daily activities. Some people like this. Some people could care less and rather blow their life away on GT5 (World of Warcraft, insert any other game that consumes lives). To each its own. Enjoy your game the way YOU want to enjoy it. As long as it doesn't screw up my mojo I really could give a rats ___ how many rainbow colored x1's, karman ghia's you have.

Couldn't have stated it any better. Many have become robots from grinding the same monotonous races for months for vehicles on this game. Really what award have you won and better yet who cares. I don't see any gratification in grinding races you already know you're going to win. Better yet I also don't see any gratification from watching Bob score wins while people are doing laundry, breakfast, lunch, housecleaning or anything other than playing GT5. There is zero effort in having Bob win money and cars. ZERO. This feature is a total waste of time. I'll trade, race, and save myself the time to enjoy the what many may have forgotten. It's called the Real World.

PD made it so you have to work hard to earn cars, then, someone found an exploit, the exploit went viral and a ton of people started exploiting this and using several accounts to duplicate cars, sell them on ebay etc..

I don't understand how this harms your playing ability. If people are dumb/rich enough to pay money on ebay for cars let them. It should be nobodies business but theirs. I'm not broke because of this and neither are you. You haven't lost any cars and their value is meaningless if you never trade so whats the point? You've just involved your personal emotions in situations that don't even concern you. This is whats so hilarious about these posts. Enjoy YOUR game and stop being so concerned with how the gardener Jim , Bob the mechanic, your neighbor Billy, Jose in Mexico, Kaz in Japan play theres.

PD then decides they need to fix the exploit and put the game back to the way it was originally intended, where people earn their cars and cannot send them to the masses after they duplicate them.

The need of policing on a videogame is ridiculous especially when this affects nobody but the user who is involved in it. Nobody else should be affected by this. These are self inflicted results so how this should concern you, me, anyone else who has GT5 I have no clue. Again mind your game and stop being so worried about others. The reason for this is pointless.

Here comes the broken record again:
This is like saying anyone who has destroyed their Dualshock from not getting gold on the Rally Challenges should be banned from playing GT5. Their game, their controller, and most importantly....THEIR PROBLEM. My gaming experience hasnt changed. No different with Mike, Joe, Jim, Bob trading 40 colored X1's. Who Cares!! The sooner you guys start getting this the better off you will be.

So all of you are mad at PD for somewhat putting the game back to what it was originally intended to be. If you don't like working for the cars, don't play their game, don't expect PD to cater to people who want free cars.

PD shouldn't care as long as:

1. Users and PD arent affected by these choices most importantly...
2. Users are enjoying THEIR GAME.

"Collecting without earning/deserving...where's the satisfaction??"
I'm sorry mate, thats some more of the fascist BS I'm seeing here. Who made you the Supreme Decider of What is Satisfactory to the General Public?

No one has, no one will. Nor has it been given to you. It's a video game, you play it to drive around and do what yo do in the game.

Sure, I'm Pro-1.07 but that's not going to mean I'll spew every word on how non-duplication is more rewarding. I play it my way, he plays it his way, they play it how they want. People should take this in a different light because they are spending their earned free time arguing over a video game. Why don't you be quiet for once (everyone!) and play the game. For past-dupers and anti-1.07, it's reality. You have to suck it up and deal with it, even as unfortunate as it may seem. For Pro-1.07, this is not where you go around gloating about how superiority rules and all that worthless crap.

I wish people on here would, instead of arguing every last detail, nitpicking away for countless hours in an idea of GT debate, the Dupers play GT, the Anti-Dupers play GT, you both must love to play Gran Turismo; why not discuss that for a change?

OK I just want to say this isn't meant as a discussion/argument thread, it's meant to be a thread where you can get the link to the place where you can voice your opinion and if your against trading and duping may I ask why your in the Marketplace where people trade and dupe cars for the convinence of others..?

To be honest I kinda duped cars by which I mean backing up a save and still having your car when you send it so yea I dupe but then I am helping others by giving them the cars they want and myself by asking them for cars I don't have in my garage so yes if PolyPhony Digital want to remove something that the majority of people use to gain cars they can but there will be backlashes of people complaining but that's life if PD wanted to avoid this problem they either would have not had a Gifting feature in the game or had a proper one where people can pay in game Credits to purchase the cars they want for less or more depending on the seller.

But, that's only my opinion and if you don't like it don't, but don't make a issue of other peoples opinions because thats their opinion.

EDIT: Also, I have noticed on my feedback topic that people are stating that people are duping cars just to get them and not drive them..! this is not true as I have traded for many the expensive car and have 2 X1's but I have driven them I like the fact that you can easily obtain the cars you want without spending 100 hours driving the same track in the same car and then getting the car you want, but the satisfaction is the same for everyone because they did what they wanted and therefore they are satisfied because they are who they are!

And please no more arguements because if the thread is still open the mods must of seen it as OK to be in this forum and I dont want to see it get closed because someone went a step to far.

Find a Webster's dicationary and look up opinion half wit

I didnt grind 300 races for those three cars. I had done that many races up to where I am in the game A-spec 30/ b spec 29 and the cars hadnt come through the UCD or I traded them. Who has time to sit around all day playing GT5 waiting for cars. After each race...I check the UCD and after three months I decided that trading was the answer. I own the game...How does it not concern me. I've traded three times...and have another trade tomorrow...how does it not concern me. It concerns everyone because as GTP members, we have a vote. I mean for the sake of all that is Top Gear...take the words you put in my mouth and shove them back in yours.

Happy racing

GT_Prologue5 I Like GT5 alot. I dislike, especially when I gave very clear warning (MASSIVE BOLD LETTERS) that my opinion is not acceptable. I was matter-of-fact and honest and another individual decided to criticize me. I attacked an idea...my right while he attacked a person...no ones right. Again though, I really like GT5. (I'll say no more and do my best to keep quiet on this topic)

I seem to have hurt your feelings. I did not attack YOU per se, but the other 100 or so people who attacked us traders and were jumping with joy at the fact that we were not happy with this update. If you have at all followed community reaction on this update you will know what I am talking about. "Duper's suck it" "Wah wah wah i can't trade" and other juvenile one-liners come to mind. Go ahead and have an opinion, but do not expect people to not respond to your opinion. There is no opinion in this Universe that has not been responded to either with praise or criticism. My response was meted out to people whose opinion bordered on happiness that our trading abilities were handicapped. Especially if that opinion is posted in a thread where like minded people are after a certain goal (resumption of normal trading). Your opinion would befit and be probably accepted with less criticism on a thread titled "What are your opinions on update 1.07?" . Don't expect that treatment on a thread titled "Petition against update 1.07". People here want normal trading to resume. So when you come in here asking us traders to open MyGranTurismo accounts and stare at cars, thinking thats what we do all day with GT5, you will get a harsh rebuttal. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but next time take care about where you are giving your opinion. In some places it would be welcomed, in other places it won't.

Walk into a Pub A and start giving your opinions on why Pub B is better than Pub A. Don't think the patrons of Pub A will provide you with good service after that. So don't get touchy, even though I used a quote from your original post I wasn't attacking you.

PD brought it upon themselves.

This is the most intregueing part of traders mentality to me.

PD included an awesome feature to share hard earned cars with dear friends. A few of you went too far and PD put you on the naughty step.

Fair enough I say. They could of stopped your pocket money! ;)

What you say is true, but its not the whole story. The people who work at PD are pretty intelligent, at least I hope they are. I'm pretty sure that during development the exploit being used must have been discussed.

Yes, the gift system was originally intended for people to share cars with close friends, but generally anything that is designed to do an intended purpose also does something else. As example, albeit a tad extreme, take the splitting of the nucleus. This was originally intended to provide a new energy soure, yet it also gave rise to the atom bomb. Thats the reality of it.

Originally, we couldn't save our game saves and trading would've been more fun, but also a lot more risky as there would be a lot of scammers. PD gave us the ability to save our game saves, with knowledge of the exploit - they developed the game, they would definitely know the ins and outs of their system. Of course, the exploit was found and now 'abused' by many and this means more money to run the severs at PD's end. Of course they can't remove the ability to back up the game save as PS3's do crash, people do accidentally delete their data etc. so they limited what and how much people can trade a day.

Its annoying for the people who had many accounts, but given time, I'm pretty sure people will calm down and get used to the new system..

To clarify, I've nothing against you or any trader, I'm just happy with the update but dont worry, you still have another week to trade dupped X1s and high level tickets for chrome paints and whatever else people need 12 of.

Rest Easy for the victory is yours

Selling the cars on ebay is only going to be far worse now....far, far worse.

Who was it harming the other way Hmmm? most everybody was happy.

As a side note, I don't think the 1 trade per playstaion ban has been lifted....as I can' still only trade on car per PS3. Ami I doing something wrong?

They should at least give us some sort of grace period to get things in order. I have cars scattered all over the place to help facilitate trading, which was not greed on my part, that is how the game was set up when I bought it.

Give us a month to straighten things out PD for christs sake. I hate to pull this card, but it's the least you can do when i waited years for this game to come out.

Yeah, these people don't seem to understand that before the update everybody was happy while now a large group is not. And its pathetic that they seem to be happy at our discontent. This WILL backlash on PD. In some way or the other.
You aren't doing anything wrong its still one trade per ps3.

Be content with the fact that they have given you roughly a week to sort it out.

Really? We should be content that PD is doing something (as small and worthless as it is) to help the people who bought their game?

The day a publisher does something for gamers purely out of pity, like PD has right now, is the day I will stop buying their games. We should not be CONTENT with anything, because we have every right to demand more from PD. They are not funding themselves, WE are.
