Uploading typed text

I made a couple typed text decals and saved as plain .svg in Inkscape and when uploading through gran-turismo website it shows but when I go to put the decal on a car they appear invisible. Is there a step I may be missing or does it have to be traced into a vector image instead or something?

EDIT- solved it, I had to do object path.

Hello friend, would you be able to help me by creating a typed text decal? I need my driver's name in simple bold white lettering, so I don't have to create it every time letter by letter. That would be much appreciated!

Decal: D.DAVIDOV

Thanks,

I'm having a different issue, but it's related to typed text so I'll post it here. I know that straight text won't show, so I'm using the outline option in Illustrator to make a trace of all the text. Everything looks fine after saving as an svg-file and running it through an optimizer, but once the images are uploaded to GT Sport some of the letters are massively distorted and skewed while others are perfectly fine.

I have no clue about what the reason might be, so if someone has experienced something similar and found a solution I would greatly appreciate the help. I feel I've wasted enough time with this specific project and will move on to other liveries for now.

Tracing is inaccurate when tracing over letters, it's ugly. Best to do is just type the text in whatever font and size, and merge the path and save the svg. I tried copying the Renault Sport logo and the "Renault Sport" traced looked like ass.

Thanks,
I'll see what I can do, any particular font?

Here's one I did, download that and upload it yourself on gran-turismo.com under community.

Hey there, I'm having the same issues that you mentioned. I'm also using Inkscape, and followed the tutorial here (https://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=238029) to create a few text based svg files last week, and it worked great.

Now, I can't seem to replicate my results from earlier. I'm doing as follows:

1) Create & Format Text
2) Resize Page to Fit
3) Object to path

I then upload onto the GT site, where the decal can be seen. When I got to access in-game, its invisible.

Am I forgetting a step? Any insight it appreciated! Thanks.

EDIT: Here's a link to an example of the svg file I'm trying to upload: https://www.dropbox.com/s/urngbhm3ev2cfd2/brabhammart.svg?dl=0

Probably because it's extremely small. Enlarge it by factor of 10. If that doesn't help, it's maybe because you applied strokes. You should expand them.

Thanks for the suggestions, but the size doesn’t seem to be an issue. I tried enlarging to no avail.

I’m going to keep messing around to see if I can get it sorted. Im sure it’s something silly. Thanks!

I had decent luck just creating a text box with black text and an appropriate font in mspaint. I then saved it as a PNG and uploaded it to vectorizer.io. Reduce to 2 colors and uncheck any white/grey.

I have been using Photoshop Elements text tool to type out what I need in 36pt, save as JPG and use an online converter to create the SVG file- seems to work pretty good and is fast.
