I've finally got a few kinks worked out of our Gallery software, so now you guys can take a look at all the pictures I took at this year's US Grand Prix. I narrowed it down to 177 of the best images out of 758, so it's been quite a daunting task and with that said I do hope you guys enjoy them. :) Here they are divided into 4 different albums, one for each day...

Thursday - Pit Walkabout
The largest album from the weekend contains a lot of cool shots up close and personal with the engineers and mechanics working on the cars in the garages. You'll find pictures of most every team, although it was quite difficult to get a shot of the Ferrari garage because of the huge crowd around it! I also was able to see the new SLK55 safety car, and I must say it looks simply awesome in person...I didn't much care for the photos I've seen but the new design really struck me! You could get right up to the wall next to the track, so that allowed for some cool shots of the grid and the racing surface.

Friday - Track Day at Putnam Park Raceway
As much fun as the GP was, I think this was my favorite day of the whole thing! A local children's hospital was having a fundraising event at Putnam Park, and for $15 you could drive as many laps as you like (you did have to keep it under 55 MPH on the straightaway :grumpy:, but through the curves you could really push hard :D). I couldn't believe that I finally got to take my G35 Coupe to a track and put it through it's paces! It was a complete blast and I loved every minute of it! With no local autocross events, car clubs, or racetracks in the area where I live, this was really something special for me.

But, as cool as it was already, one guy at the event owned a Ferrari F50, Ferrari F360 Modena, 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB, a BMW M1, and Noble M12!!! Yes, this guy was very lucky. I started talking to him a bit, and asked him if he would take me for a few laps around the track in his F50 - and he said YES!!! I couldn't believe I was actually sitting in one of five silver Ferrari F50's in the world. The engine sounds so perfect and agressive inside the car, and the acceleration can't be compared to anything. There is no body roll, and the racing seats hug on to you so you can't move around. In a word, it was amazing, and I will forever be thankful to the owner for taking me around. He was a very nice man, and believed that cars like that were meant to be enjoyed by everyone, and he was happy to show it to me. If only everyone who was lucky enough to own supercars had the same attitude!

Saturday - F1 Qualifying/Porsche Supercup Race
We got some great shots from one of the new grandstands set up overlooking turns 8, 9, and 10. The crowds were ridiculous, and I did get a horrible sunburn (my face is still peeling), but it was a lot of fun. We also waited at the BMW Williams booth to see Ralf Schumacher up close and personal. He came out for a quick interview and autographs, but the crowd got so tight and maddening when he came near that it was to the point where you can't stand up, and you're just pressed tightly against other people, unable to balance on your own. Not very comfortable or safe, but it just goes to show how far some people will go to get an autograph.

Sunday - The Race
No need to say much here, as I'm sure most all of you watched this event-filled race! It was certainly a good one to see in person. :) Although I wasn't able to see Ralf's crash from the first turn, I had a front row seat for Alonso's crash (I was literally sitting right in front of where his car came to a rest, I was even able to see myself on TV when I got home and watched the recording), and for Webber's engine explosion. All in all they were great seats, and after four years now of attending the race I must say they are the best I've ever had. I can't wait for next year!

Also, if you want to download any of the images in their full 2048 x 1536 resolution, just visit https://www.gtplanet.net/misc/f1.

Oh god.- Silver Ferrari F50. That must've been fun. The actual race day photos would make perfect wallpapers but there too small. :nervous:

Jordan, Any way I can get an enlarged photo of that F50 at 1280 x 1024 for a desktop wallpaper? Specifically, IMG_8477 or IMG_8473? That is a beautiful car. My other favorite shot would be the close-up of the BMW Williams steering wheel. I didn't think to take a picture of that wheel when I saw the Mockup in the merchandising booth.

sUn, I'll probably end up leaving my photos in their unaltered enlarged sizes when I get them developed and get picture cds for them, depending on how many megabytes the total upload will be. If not, simply send me a pm and ask for a specific one and I'll email it to you or something.

Sorry, guys, I didn't think anybody would really want them as wallpaper so I didn't add the bigger sizes to the gallery. But, you can still download ALL of the images in their full 2048x1536 glory right here. Just match up the filenames to find the one you want - both the large and small files will be the same. :)

Thank you, Jordan. Now I have that beautiful F50 as my desktop Wallpaper. Just wait until you see the pictures of the F355 I saw... I got pictures of the engine bay!

Jebus Jordan! There are some fantastic pictures there. You got some of the Porsche Supercup cars standing in the pits that are

Some of the qualifying pics are the kinda stuff one would see in a motoring newspaper or something. Great quality stuff.

Almost all of them make for perfect wallpapers, thanks Jordan!

Edit: What kind of a camera did you use to take these photo's Jordan?

Well, my pictures that I took at the USGP have finally been uploaded! Please feel free to look at them here. Unfortunately, three of my rolls did not develop due to my pre-exposing them incorrectly. Those three rolls were all taken at the Thursday Morning Pit walkabout so I am disappointed about that. I really need a digital camera.
Thursday was my favorite of all three days that I spent at the track.

A big thanks goes to Jordan for allowing me to upload them to the server. On a side note: How about some credit on my 2003 album (found in my signature), Jordan?

Great pictures again this year, Matrix! And sorry about the '03 album, I didn't realise I forgot that - it's there now. :)

All of the pictures were taken with the brand-new Canon S1-IS. As you can see, it's pretty awesome - we've owned nearly 10 digital cameras by now and I must say it is the best, and my personal favorite, so far.

Thanks! It's alright about the '03 album. I think my favorite photo that developed would have to be the one I am using for my avatar currently (Cropped and resized, of course!)..

Matrix, how proud were you to get that shot of Schumi and Rubinho nose-to-tail? :)

Great pictures. I've been to the NCAA basketball Final Four, postseason games in every big sport, title fights in Vegas...but I've never had as good a time as I had at Indy for last year's USGP. It's like a mini-U.N. conference with all of the fans from around the globe. I think I took as many pictures of the crazy Colombians (could Montoya run for president in Colombia or what?) and face-painted Tifosi as I did of racing.

Jordan, great shots of Alonso. I think that Fernando and Fisichella will be a team to watch out for next year. We've all been wondering for years what Fisi could do with a decent ride. I guess it's "put up or shut up" time.

Good job, guys!

That's nothing. It is a great shot though. Last year, I managed to capture the melee of the Porsche SuperCup Cars on Lap 1 of the second race on Race Day last year. It's still my favorite shot.
