Using the custom race 'credit' glitch with my detuned Mazda Atenza 196.80pp to set up the races, and switching to the maxed out 578.33pp which is roughly tuned for circuits, I wondered how many credits each GT Sophy race would give.

I am not even remotely a fast driver, and was cautious about gaining the CRB, and these were all one-and-done events. I didn't use nitrous, and the same tune and gearing for every event. I think that I could easily take 10 seconds of the Mount Panorama time, and probably much more as I was so slow on the first lap.

While this is useful info for some, and Sophy can provide more engaging racing, if the end goal is credits against time invested, I'll stick to the La Sartha PP700 grind in the Red Bull Junior. With that race I get closer to 1.7mill (850k X2) for an hour's effort and only have to restart the race once.

Seems less tedious than restarting a race every 8 minutes to maximize potential credits against time invested.

100% agree that Sophy provides engaging racing, I just wondered how using Sophy compared with the custom race credit grinding. I don't remember how much the Daytona custom race glitch pays out thesedays, but I expect some people are still exploiting that.

You are right about the highest payoff being the Le Sarthe700pp - but I am personally a bit bored with with this race. I rarely grind for credits, but I am willing to explore potential avenues where a few extra credits can be obtained differently.

AFK credit grinding is where its at. Not too difficult to setup and makes credit grinding, well, less grinding!

To be honest, if grinding is required in a game, I personally feel that the game economy isn't quite right - but alas GT7 has been set up to encourage those who are likely, to purchase credits. To those who AFK credit grind - fair play to them - but it isn't for me.

Unfortunately my AFK got screwed with the 1.55 update. My Beat in detuned form now exceeds 300pp (the lowest I can get is 300.79) so I am no longer getting as much as I could (about 2/3ths pre update).

EDIT: Just found a setting that helped bring me back to sub 300.

I totally agree with you. The cars can cost whatever amount, I don't care. Traditionally, there's a few 'money races' that pay out generously and/or have a prize car that you can sell over and over to get mega money. That piece is missing unfortunately, to create rarity in the expensive cars is more or less what Kaz said a few years ago, IIRC. :ouch:
