As update time rolls around again, I thought it'd be worth doing some testing to see if "fixes for some minor issues" translates to any physics / tuning differences. So before I updated, I ran laps in a few cars to record times and save ghosts. Then the laps were repeated in the same conditions once v1.11 was installed. All testing was done offline. Here we go...

Honda Integra DC5 RM at Tsukuba
racing soft tyres, this tune
v1.10
a bit soft and floaty, needs 2nd gear for full turn-in, slightly spins outside tyre
54.7

v1.11
feels the same
54.7

NSX Type S Zero at Deep Forest
sports hard tyres, default LSD settings (10 / 20 / 40)
v1.10
very loose, leans heavily on outside tyre, LSD spins outside tyre in 4th gear!
1:29.4

v1.11
ughhh, default LSD settings are pure evil! That's same as before, though. Not sure why it’s so much quicker now, possibly the driver(!). Engine note seems raspier.
1:28.3

BTR ‘86 at Cape Ring Inside
racing medium tyres, 407 bhp
v1.10
lift-off oversteer, very little power understeer, rear pendulums at low speed
54.2

v1.11
perhaps a bit more LSD Accel heating of outside tyre
54.2

Audi RS6 Avant at Laguna Seca
racing medium tyres 956bhp, this tune
v1.10
very lumpy, overheats tyres, understeer during transients, balanced exit
1:23.9

v1.11
feels the same
1:23.8

Thoughts
So none of these results point to any physics/tuning changes offline. I'm interested to hear if you guys think you're noticing changes though (offline or online).

Hi, i can't check it yesterday because the server was out. This morning before go to job , i've tested a car (Skyline R32 premium) . I've finished the offline tune 2 am ,go to sleep and test again this morning with 1.11.
i confirm, no difference offline.
So i give a run online and the sensation was the same, i did not see any major difference and this can be a new thing provided by this update.
But to be shure, i take my car from the Euro shootout at laguna seca, audi R8 , i've said at this time that this car was dificult to drive online, spinning like TAZ , big oversteer..... So, i test the car online in the first right full gas on suzuka, it was terrible at this point online, with the old patch 1.10.
It still show oversteer, but it seems less, just a few, the car is drivable and i think something change yes. It was a quick test only , i have to recheck this afternoon after the job.

Hmmm... interesting.

If anyone notices that the effects of tuning has changed, it would be great to hear from you.
Did some practice laps in my Yellowhat GTR @ IRC, no distinguishable difference, in either settings, or physics.
I didn't expect anything, as I've found they hurt more than they help, but you just can't kill hope. I'd love to see online become identical to offline, or vice versa, just a solid set of physics for both that are the same.

Cool, thanks for sharing.

Is it just me, or are low/mid/high RPM turbos actually causing a different torque curve to be shown for the first time ?

Whenever I used to play with different turbos the torque curve shown was always the same. Now, on every car I checked it's always slightly different.

Dunno if it affects the driving, maybe it was just a bug with how the graph displayed in the past?

Here's a HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE change to the online physics for all of us who love to drag race.

Here it is........discovered by cool-dude (another first for GME!).

YOU CAN WHEELIE ONLINE!!!!!!!

Let's just say you can get a HELL of a lot faster now through the top gears.

Yes you can wheele, but as far as i know i only works on certain cars. On the other hand, some people claim they can do like 270-280 mph with the tvr speed 12 now...

I like online much more that offline. Most cars has crazy understeer offline and require absurd tunes to get agile.

But online is a mess too. Public lobby is different to Private Lobby. There is different level of grip depending on race quality setting, a full room has more grip than a room with few drivers. Not sure what to discover next. Faster pingrate gives more grip. Soon there might be a thread ..... "how to tune your router for optimum grip" ..... just kidding, but I wouldn't be surprised.

Maybe at Le Sarthe. I know cool-dude is getting 262mph (422km/h) over at SSR7. 👍 But it's not the only car. Join slump, screamopilia & myself over there now mate because we're experimenting with other cars. We already know of three that can do it, including one you wouldn't have expected (thank slump for finding that one. 👍 ) so we'll be waiting for you.

That was always (?, at least for a while) the case. The driving is different too.

OT: I didn't notice any physics changes so far.

This morning i 've done a quick test with my R8 european shootout laguna that was undrivable online, because of a huge oversteer.
First test after patch 1.11 ,it seems more drivable, but i had no time before the job to confere really. I'll check this later, but the first impression is, something change just in the online physics yes. 💡

Definitely something change after this new patch 1.11

For me ,they tried to bring back the online to the level of offline with more grip on the online physics for the cars have less oversteer . They have a little bit less , it's a fact now. But i think they put to much grip now .
Make the experience. take any car of the shootout indy ,go on the oval with the same configurations, you will be more than 1 second down your time.

For me ,offline time after a lot of laps to reach : 48"334.
ONLINE TIME NOW AFTER PATCH 1.11 : 47"065 after only 5 laps.

This is what i have constated and post in another thread, it's a positive test on indy oval showing a huge difference of grip , more grip online.

Do tourself the experience with any car. More than 1 second is a lot on this track, and also you can see the difference of speed in the turns...

Good day.

Okay nice, i try to join soon...

I think i know the answer but is there any possibility u can give us hints or tell us what these cars are?

IDK, I've ran identical laps now with old and new online with this car, at this track, and at least in the first race (14 drivers) I ran the same as solo practice.
I've yet to see this difference, though I've heard of it before.

It's an outrage that they were claiming "The Real Driving Simulator" before when you couldn't even wheelie online ;)

Cool, thanks for sharing, guys.

Well, the "unavailable" diffs of some/all FWD's are one for sure. :irked:

I thought Kaz already mentioned via Twitter that it had already been resolved??

*2 minutes later* Just checked the.Kaz tweets thread, this is what he said about it.

Kaz_Yamauchi: Regarding FF cars settings, fixes have been taken care of; we're chasing the rest.

I certainly hope so. :irked: I guess I have to check it in the game, if it truly is fixed..

Edit 1: Before restarting the game, no change.

Edit 2: After reboot: Still no access to LSD sliders.

I think he means it'll be in the next patch, since I don't think it can be resolved from their side only.

558 kph with the X1 using wheelie. I'm not sharing tune, it will eventually be discovered anyway.
Hmm, let me guess: High front, low rear, no camber or toe, typical drag damper setting, very long gears with FD trick, low front downforce and high rear downforce.
Does it work? :dopey:

It's in the other "drags" threads. slump mentioned it. :yuck:
Ehhh! You mad or what? :D
Toyota Minolta does wheelies too!!!!

That news makes Mafs :(. I WANT MY 60/60/5 DAMMIT!! :grumpy:
Would be crappy.....:P

Oh boiz i canz weeliz onlien

Awesome. I'll have to test that out at some point today. I'll get back to you all on this. Anyword on what cars it works on?

Speed 12 is very simple. Full rear downforce, low front downforce, high front height and low rear.

Going to have to try that. I have plenty of different 'Vettes to test though.

I wonder if we're seeing the beginning of a Gasser fad in GT5 online...

Beginning!!!
I wish it was just the beginning, we've lost some normally reasonable circuit racers to the dark side mysteries of drag racing in the last month...starting to think we'll need to do a serious intervention on some of them and remind them that there is nothing wrong with actually going around a corner!
