Evolution Imports (www.evolutionimports.com) the importer that brought you the JDM-spec EVO VII has brought another juicy addition: Honda Civic Type-R. At $26,000 you can have the car of your dreams, for more info go to the website. Prices of the EVO VII ($45,000) has been dropped to $36,000, due to the arrival of the JDM-spec EVO VIII next year. Man, I wish I could buy them all!!!

Thanks to Supersport on Granturismo.com Forums.

US-spec EVO sucks. :yuck:

haha new the Civic-R has been around for ages in the uk. Ive seen tonnes of em. Same with EVOVII`s.

America sucks.

I forgot that it was dash mounted.

You know the odd thing Ive only seen like 2 old shape Civic R`s, but now the new one is out Ive seen tonnes of the new ones. BTW I saw a Silver Focus RS oh my god it looks cool.

Im not sure the wheels looked the same, but maybe the wheel arches didnt look as bulky. Maybe it was a focus ST170, I dunno although id like a focus RS in silver.

Wow I never new that Honda was a european manufacturer.

it's built in the UK...

Honda has no plans of bringing them here. these are black market imports, retaining their RHD driving position.

you're better off with buying an Si, whose price keeps on dropping, and swapping an entire RSX-S drivetrain in it. you'll end up with a car just as powerful, for thousands less.

can't believe the level of maturity here...

Yeah I was going to say the same thing Fred. Its pretty much the same with the old version Civic Type R and the American Civic DX hatchback... Personally if I was ever going to do what you suggested I'd drop in the RSX-S engine into my Si and tune the hell out of it, big ass turbo, FMIC, headers, all the good stuff. I hate how Honda gives the Si the stock RSX engine and Europe the RSX-S engine in it. If I wanted to make the new Si nice, I'd drop in the RSX-S engine and like I have already explained, blah blah....

I might respect a real Type R here in the USA not one of those "fake" Type R's

Oh yeah I forgot that allot of hondas are manufactured in the uk. I vaugely remember seeing a commercial saying how the type r`s are built over here. Is the tegra r also built in england?

Is that aimed at me?

Is that aimed at me?

nah, don't worry. i thought i'd make a "double message" in the same one, that's all... i was referring to someone else's comments.

I think the Integra Type-R is built in Japan, in the plant where they build the S2000 and the NSX.

So only the Accord R and the Civic R are built over here.

Did you know that honda used to build rovers in the same factory as they built civics?

quite possible, i seem to recall a few Rovers that were sold as Hondas, or vice-versa.

Yeah for quite a while.

You can tell which models are because they actually look very simmilar.

The 4 door civic and the rover 400 are basically the same car barring bodys and interiors.

I am really hoping Honda brings the real Civic Type-R here to NA. I have heard nothing but great reviews about the new ones. They sound pretty potent.

The Focus ST170 is the biggest piece of crap around. I laugh when I see some loser driving one. I pray to god you dont think they are cool Race Idiot?

Argh.

I had to write my post again.

Ill say this for the 9 millionth time.

The focus in the UK/europe is much better than the focus you get in US/CA. It wond the car of the year award, has recived positive reviews in car mags and has recently passed a german reliability test. For a while I was driving a 1.8 focus and it handled great and was quite fast gave a few golf gti`s a run for their money. Its built in the UK/Germany not mexico and I know what you said about the SVT170 focus. Yes I think the ST170 is cool and id really like a focus rs because they have a good reputation in europe.

the SVT Focus is a joke, really... you should have seen the poor guy who thought he could beat me, earlier today...

you guys overseas have it so good. how do i envy you guys.

Yeah we get the rally and touring car spinoffs.

But I want a ford with a V8 in it as well, although it would cost a fekkin bomb to buy fuel for it over here.

Ah well im still thinking of doing an engine swap on my fiesta 1.3 to a 1.6 turbo rs power 133bhp yeah.

What car do you have now anyway?

just a plain jane '00 Prelude, stockier than stock can be...

and there's the lil' summer weekend fun car that i rarely mention, but that's fast as balls... when it runs!

Yo Fred...guess who gets to drive the old man's car tomorrow? :shades:

At some point in my life I will live in Europe and drive these better version cars, I hate NA because we get screwed out of all the great cars...Hizzah we get the Neon SRT-4:rolleyes: Speaking of the SRT's....gimme one of them Ram SRT-10s :D

bah, just a 1991 Integra coupe... with a turbocharged engine, and a totally stripped interior... :D

it's not fast enough... i mean, it's Mustang, or Camaro fast, but i want it to be 911 Turbo fast! which i should accomplish this summer, hopefully

Im not too familliar how you go about modifying a car but what do you do handling wise to the car I mean if its FF you must get a fair bit of torque steer?
