Looks like I missed a another great VCRC event
Congrats Niko 👍👍.
What I want to know is how you get your pictures so crisp and clear and bright. This car looks like a premium in these pics:idea:
ha ha
I'm always waiting for someone to ask me how I manage to get good pics of standard vintage cars.
It's not always easy. But I'm so motivated to try because they're just so cool!!! ha ha
And I wind up taking the photomodes at different light levels, shutter speeds, panning, and focal length, and scrapping a great deal even after they make it transferred to my computer.
I would say for difficult ones that look kind of crappy - focal length is an excellent tool to disguise the flaws.
The 4 photos you picked out were completely undoctored (like no photoshop minipulation other than resizing them for the web).
But all 4 of those were taken at a pretty high zooming in number in the focal length setting.
But in fact this Skyline 62 I think is one of the better standard cars. There are definitely
definitely some that are much better than others. I'd consider the Skyline 62 to be at the mid range toward the better side.
A good comparison is to check out the Honda Today. That's a good example, off the top of my head, of a really crappy standard. You don't even need to take it out on the track - just take it into GT Auto, and prepare to recoil in horror.
Another difficult one is the Galant 70 - definitely toward the worse end. And what's more it's not an attractive car overall. But I really enjoy driving it so I want to organize a race with it bad. So I worked hard to get some attractive photos of it.

All the photos in the Galant 70 collage were taken at high focal length setting. Not perfect, but best I could do with a crappy standard.
In "walk around" mode, I back up as far as I can from the car.
Go into camera, zoom out as far as I can with the zoom tool.
Then go into the settings, and zoom in as much as possible on the focal length.
Works wonders.
But I have a suspicion even that couldn't help the Honda Today.
Not that anyone besides me is interested in driving the Honda Today.
