You guys can PM me once a week with a maximum of five vehicles each week. Sunday is when it resets, so if you send me five vehicles thursday of this week, you can send five more this sunday.

Once a vehicle has been picked, I'll put it in the archive, and it will be removed from the list until 30 days after it's picked.

Rules:

  1. Vehicles with inappropriate liveries will not be accepted.
  2. Please, do not post heavily modified cars (ricers, slammed, lifted, blown...). Keep it stock, and try to find the stock rims. Rule lifted.
  3. Please, do not go off-topic. You may discuss the cars that have been picked, but don't post random stuff.
  4. Don't go crazy if you don't like the nominated car.
  5. If a vehicle has already been picked as Vehicle of the Day, no one can nominate it again. This prevents the same car from being picked multiple times.
Oh, and don't ask when your car is going to get picked, I use a random, unpredictable generator, so no one knows when.

How to nominate:
Just send me a private message with up to five cars (include pictures, specs are optional) per week. Easy as that.

Pic's broken.

Alright, cool 👍

This is one of my favorite Ford trucks, just below the oroginal F1, and just above the mid 70's F150.

Laptop you dumnut...
@GranTurismo916, you're not the only one. :/

Just so y'all don't get confused, this is the post where the pictures are broken:

Clean 80s trucks are hard to find. Everyone beats the crap out of them because they can take the abuse.
And also because they're insanely cheap to buy and fix. Parts are everywhere.

Oh, and I found you a tailgate at a car show, but the guy was in the middle of selling it.

Damn. Those gates are expensiveeee.

He sold it for $200... Must be a rare part or something. It was in perfect shape, too. You'd have fainted. It was Red/White.
$200? Holy hell. Those gates are worth $750+. The aluminum trim for those alone are worth $200. That's exactly what I needed. Red/white.

Not down here they aren't! He had one that was green as well, but the letters were all painted over and stuff. Wanted $150 for it.

I also considered this generation F-150 as a first car until gas prices jumped up.

I don't care about the colors, they are all getting blasted to bare metal and repainted anyways so it doesn't matter. $150 is not a bad price. Hell, I'd give you the cash if you picked me up one.

Short bed F150, 6 cylinder and a 5 speed manual and you'll get 18-20 mpg all day long.

I'll see if I can get you one at the next show. I'll get his phone number and give it to you so you can have it shipped.

And V6 truck? Eww. May as well get a sedan so I can haul people around :P.

I got to see what this other dude is doing first but yeah that would be alright.

Inline 6 truck dude. Sounds like a V8 and has the torque of a 302

Alright, I'm going to a ahow the 13th, if I see one I'll send you his number.

And yeah, I have a habit of typing v(number) no matter the layout... But still, trucks and muscle cars I'd only own with a V8.

I really Love these trucks , though i Prefer a GM 454 Trucks But i saw a 1990's Ford F150 a while a go and i loved how they look , i thought that F150's Most of them had Cologne V6 and the F250 had V8's (302/351)

but the question is What is the diffrence between the F series trucks Are they differ on The size like GM Trucks do or is it the engine used ?

No full size Ford pickup bet came with a Cologne V6, only the Bronco II. The only 6 cylinders was the Essex V6 and 4.9L inline 6. All F100s, 150s, 250s, and 350s had 6 cylinder and V8 options.

Yes, 100, 150, 250, and 350 designations are similar to GM's 1500, 2500 and 3500 designations. Engine has nothing to do with it. Also, these trucks had 460s.

Trucks go in a series. Ford F-150 is the same class as the GM 1500, and Ram 1500. Same with the F-250/2500/2500 Ram, and F-350/3500/3500 Ram.

And I prefer GM trucks as well, but not on the 80's and up models. GM really started tumbling downhill around 83 or 84.

I've got a better idea for this thread, @Dagger311, if you'll entertain it.

Since everyone on GTP has wildly varying tastes in cars, why not make this a thread where people can pick a particular car, talk about it for a bit, and spur a bit of debate? Maybe make it weekly so conversation doesn't flit from car to car quite so quickly as it would in a day.

Could do it like a car-themed GTP Member of the Week thread - you could pick one member each week to talk about the car of their choice. Some might say the cool wall thread is similar to that already, but this thread wouldn't be about the subjective coolness of a vehicle - instead, it would be entirely about why an individual GTPer likes a particular car and their opportunity to maybe explain to others why it's significant.

At the moment, this thread just seems like slow-chatting on the parts prices of old trucks... which isn't really entertaining subject matter for a thread.

Any truck GM made after 85/86 is laughable.

Hey now :P

8/27/14: 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429, nominated by @Slash.
image-jpg.212095

Engine:

429 "Semi Hemi" V8, rated at 375 horsepower and 450 ft-lbs of torque, but as most of us know, these numbers were a lie to make insurance cheaper. No idea on actual power, but there are claims of 500-600 horsepower.

Drivetrain:

Front engine, rear wheel drive.
4 speed manual was the only option.

Congratulations on two wins in a row, @Slash! Your F250 will return on 9/25/14, and this iconic muscle car returns on 9/26/14.
