Visionracer VR3 w/LCD stand and a ButtKicker

Hi - New to this thread. Was hoping someone could help answer me a question.

I just recently purchased a Visionracer VR3. I'm mostly playing Dirt 3 off my PC on it. I have the Logitech G27 package and 5.1 surround headphones. It couldn't get anymore realistic. Until I stumbled upon "d-box imotion" for the Visionracer. Watching a video of it on YouTube I was thrilled. Ahh, one more addition to my package that will REALLY enhance it.

Come to find out after some searching. The price...for d-box...for my visionracer.............$10,000 dollars!

Can anyone please explain why it's so much. Is there any hope for it coming down in price. Maybe a competitor that offers something similar for maybe around $1,500-2000? I have seen the DIY home simulator kits but I like the floor-piston idea that d-box has set up.

I'm sure the research for d-box on the visionracer was high but seriously. Let's go through the check list...

Visionracer = $1,100
G27 Package = $200
Game = $40
LCD screen = $300
D-box = $10,000

Please help me out here

Does seem a little expensive, I guess the company thought if someone wants it bad enough, they will pay. I personally would never pay $1,100 for a chair so $10,000 to bounce around is out of the question. Maybe more companies will design something like this and it will drive down prices.

I know there are serious sim racers out there, but I don't see this as a realistic option for most.

hi I've too come in interest with full motion cockpit, why 10k?, it is because D-box Charge $3000 per actuator and you get 3 Actuator and the "receiver" bit.

I have been eyeballing the D-box for a while , got buttkicker gamer 2 however it is not full motion it's a totatly different feeling.

one day maybe if im brave enough to spend that much on "toy"

Keep in mind that the divorce might cost you another 10 grand. :D

good call, that' s why bu not getting this I have saved at least 20 grand. 👍

now I just got to find my will to start making that buttkicker plate for my rig

I'm glad others agree with the obnoxious price.

Mr. S, thanks for the tip about the buttkicker....I didn't even know something like that existed. It'll have to do till the d-box comes down in price.

Yes I noted in annother thread the cost is a bit silly.
Motion for me is overrated, while enjoyable it doesn't feel quite right and while some try to simulate G-Forces this then requires exaggerated movement. Some people get motion sickness with these as well or the fun can wear off after the initial experience or novelty of it.

It's been my own personal mission to use audio and tactile in a way that brings a highly immersive experience to gaming and a cockpit with continued experimentation of using surround sound, multiple subwoofers and over a dozen tactile units all working independently from the surround decoding.

I've still more work to do on my own cockpit but it will provide an experience no commercial cockpit offers. As an alternative to motion I want to achieve and simulate a unique level of immersion that is possible on a non moving cockpit. After two years of messing around Im coming close to having it all working combined together.

Hello!

This is my second post here at GTPlanet. Thanks for all the responses regarding my first post yesterday.

So like I said in my last post. I have a Visionracer VR3 with the LCD stand and a 32" screen. Someone mentioned a Buttkicker on my last post, which I had never heard of before. I researched it last night and decided it's definitely a must have for my racing sim.

That being said however, I'm concerned about my monitor screen being violently shaken by the buttkicker. As the buttkicker mounts to the rig itself...so does the support pole that holds my screen. Even though the buttkicker mounts at the back of the rig, and the monitor at the front and up higher. Should I be concerned that it could possibly rattle the screen and cause damage as the vibrations travel through the rig?

I haven't seen anyone attach them or leave reviews with the buttkicker and the visionracer. Only the Playseat.

Thanks in advance everyone!

You don't need to create another thread for a continuation of your original.

Merged.

A single Buttkicker shouldnt be that big of an issue regards screen vibration/shaking. All you will need is some rubber mounts "isolators". Look on ebay but basically think of them like a rubber doorstop between your monitor mounts and screen. The rubber will help isolate the vibrations to the screen.

I put a $10 fan in front of me, of course my setup mimics a car without a windshield......:lol:

I'm actually doing the same. :boggled:

Well, to be clear on that...because my room is the only room in our house without an AC unit.
