For the 2015 British Touring Car Championship Colin Turkington, after winning the 2014 season in a BMW 125i, changed to a Volkswagen CC, racing for Team BMR, alongside Alain Menu and Jason Plato, although as it was still an independent team Volkswagen were not counted towards the manufacture championship.

Colin Turkington was unable to win the BTCC for a second time, finishing 4th in the standings, with Gordon Shedden, driving a works Honda Civic Type R, winning the championship. Honda, under Team Dynamics, won the manufacture championship and Team BMR won the teams. Colin Turkington won the independents trophy and Josh Cook won the Jack Sears Trophy for Rookie Drivers.
