The 760 was Volvos top of the line in the 80's with three different engines to choose from, the PRV-V6 (146hp), a straight 6-cylinder Turbo Diesel (112hp) and the fastes of them all the straight 4-cylinder Turbo Engine (182hp) that I chose.

Powertrain: 2316 cc , B230ET (2316) Inline-4 , Turbo Intercooler , 182hp / 5800 rpm , 260 Nm / 3400 rpm , 5-speed manual

Dimensions: Length 4785 mm , Width 1750 mm , Height 1410 mm , Weight 1330 kg

Performance: Top speed 205 km/h , 0-100 km/h 8,5 sec

The title on this video is wrong, everyone who knows the difference between 740/760 see the chrome fender lists (wheel arches), wheels and grills etc. from the 760 :)

I thought the Turbo model was called a 740? The "4" or "6" in the number/name is supposed to say how many cylinders that particular model has.

Hehe, You are partly right, both versions existed, however, but 760 was the top of the line. Like I said in the start of the thread 760 has Three engines on of them vas a 4-cylinder turbo. The 740 existed with the 760s - PRV6 too :P

I was lucky enough to have a 760GLE in the late '80s. Metallic black, which was very suave. Lots of comfortable leather, and a great car for long driving days.

This was after a long line of Volvos with numbers like 144, 244 and 245.

Volvo bought my brand loyalty when they really looked after me having delivered one of their very few lemons as my first Volvo experience.

That's a good :) My family had when I was younger first a 244 Turbo, 740 Classic Estate, 940 Classic "Beige Leather" then my father bought same Renaults, and a Nissan and now he has Volvo (V50 D4) again haha.
