Spoiler: Cherokee GP Announces Lineup Adjustment

The #96 will be shared between two drivers, according to an adjustment to the lineup for the Alpine-powered squad. 25 year old German Ronald Hahn will drive the #96 for all of the road course events with primary sponsorship from Gulf. 26 year old Polish driver Alicja Kowalkiewicz will contend all the oval events with primary sponsorship from NOS Energy. Team owner Clayton Hardy referred to the change as an open audition for when the team moves to Champ Car in 2019.

Going to bump this thread by saying two things...
1) Deadline for entries to be filled is November 1st. There are a few TBD's left and those need to be cleared away by the end of the month.
2) There are 39 days left for everyone to send in liveries that they want used for the beginning of the season. Those that do not have liveries in at all by December 1st will miss the pre-season tests, the Monster Shootout, and the first race of the season at Surfer's Paradise. And there are a LOT of people that have nothing of note made.

Spoiler: Phantom Motors finally confirms Stefan Montana for second seat

After months of rumors and speculation, Phantom Motorsports boss Jean-Claude Gabriel has confirmed today that Stefan Montana will join the team alongside Andrew Draco for 2018.

"I'm happy we could finally come to terms and sign Stefan for next season. I admit that it took a lot longer on both sides to get everything sorted out, but I was determined to get the best driver available for the #31 and Stefan fits that bill quite well.

"Despite his ups and downs this year, there's no doubt in my mind that he will be able to perform well and connect with the team" Gabriel added.

Montana is said to be bringing a stout amount of personal sponsorship with him to the #31 Pilot-Flying J Honda, but there are also several questions surrounding his total commitment to racing and his personal life. Montana could noylt be reached for comment at the time this article went to press, but his publicist has gone on record saying a statement about the new deal will be forthcoming.

Spoiler: Montana says farewell to team for now

Stefan Montana says farewell to the Scuderia Rabia Furiosa team after 2017. For the first time since the announcement was made by Phantom Motorsports, Montana gave his thoughts on his goals in 2018.

"As disappointing that I've dropped the ball on the team that gave my big break in IndyCar, I hope it won't be the last time I'll race for them. I've lost a lot of things. I've lost a lot of trust on people, lost my pride, lost the woman of my life and the most important thing the world, my joy of competing in the sport. I wish we could've stayed together, but sponsorship woes just wasn't going to allow me to stay. Money talks these days. I want to thank everyone. It's not a goodbye, but a see you later. I just need to look at different ventures to salvage my career. Not my choice, but it's necessary."

Montana is prepared for the unknown of driving for another team with sponsorships already established instead of bringing his own.

"Pizza is good. I'm looking forward to that. But for me, I must win Indy to make 2018 a success. I came up short this year and whoever takes over my ride will be a threat. Mark my words. That's the car to beat. I don't care if it's a rookie or they're a one car operation, they will be strong and perhaps seek vengeance."

"This change better be great. All I ask is success and a beautiful paint design. If I have both, then we're going to do damage to the IndyCar Series like never before. Change is necessary. Phantom Motorsports has potential and I hope I put them on the map. Sponsorships willing to support me is one thing, the other is performance and that's what I want to produce. None of that DNQ crap, 2018 will be a new me. No exceptions."

Rumors hinted he may take some action regarding Havoline, but Montana has declined further comment about his ongoing feud with his soon-to-be former sponsor.
