If you could make up the VRR Super GT schedule, what 9 venues would you choose?

S2 CALENDAR VOTING OVER: The poll has closed and there are some obvious guarantees and some hard decisions to make. Let's go over those tracks...
Obviously In...
Suzuka GP Circuit: Let's face it, almost everyone thought "What is Super GT without Suzuka?" Well, with 16 votes, we won't have to find out.
Twin Ring Motegi: Full 24 hour time cycle probably helped move this along, and with a tie for the second highest Japanese venue, it'll be in.
Tsukuba Circuit: It's short track racing, Japanese style. The inaugural Tsukuba event went very well, and with it tied with Motegi, it will be on the calendar.
Midfield Raceway: It's new, it's beautiful, it's wide, and VRR Super GT will be racing there. The Canadian venue racked up the second highest total votes, securing its future.
The Hard Decisions...
There are five venues that each earned 8 votes a piece, with a bunch of others that are within reasonable range with 5-7 votes. I now get to go through the pain staking process of weeding out the exhibition and the four other international venues. Here's a quick short list of what those five venues might be.
Daytona International Speedway: The iconic American track is the only top vote getter to have a 24 hour time cycle, making this venue an almost guaranteed exhibition host. However, Mount Panorama could fill this role, making it a points event.
Nurburgring: The Green Hell hasn't lost it's popularity, having garnered equal votes to the likes of Daytona, Spa, and Laguna Seca among others. It's a S1 venue like Bathurst, which will help their chances of getting in, and both have a great advantage in 24 hour cycle.
Ascari Race Resort: The almost serene resort in Southern Spain earned 8 votes, placing it on the highly regarded list. At 3.37 miles, the track can definitely be formidable to anyone. Will Spain be a new European venue?
Mount Panorama Motor Racing Circuit: Better known as Bathurst, it is one of the most recognized and challenging touring car venues on the planet. At 3.86 miles, the track is perhaps a place where boredom can't happen with the challenging uphill and downhill sections. Add full time ability, and it's a party down under. But, with only 5 votes, it's a long shot.
Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps: Formula One has few original and iconic venues left, and Spa tops the list. Located in the Liege mountains, this 4.35 mile venue is great in daytime, night time, and in rain. It's almost certain that Belgium will host VRR Super GT next season.

i have some days ago , cant remember laptimes , i think it was about 1,44 or something close too that , so iam looking forward too hear about what other gt300 drivers can get around the track in , because i havent got any idea iff iam way behind or what i am , all in all iam just looking forward too the race , with hopefully more ppl in the field , allways fun with a big field

1.45.958 was the fastest I got, I feel that is the fastest time I'm going to get. I had that car to the legitimate edge.

i will give it a go now , but iff iam faster than that i will keep my laptime too my self hehe i was in another series some time back and iam missing that when i was there we allways had at least 3-4 ppl practicing in the club every day , it was great fun and we learnd a lot with that training , so in races we seldom had any contackt ....hope it could / would be like that in here too

 i just bought the subaru brz and tryid it in just about stock mode , all i did was giving it stage 3 engine and took all downforce off and altered a bit on the breaks , in round 6 i did 1,45.601

supra gt500 .... lap 4 off 6 - 1,44.339 , and thats because i dont have too fear taking the pedal too the metal , i would be in BIG trouble iff you guys find the setup too your cars where u dont need too "fear" that

To me this proves the lack of pace in the BRZ, nearly 1 full second slower than any other car you tested, I am curious about how fast Jackolantern runs in it with the buff. And BTW, when you tested your BRZ did you add a ballast for success, because my car has 1,180 kg.

too me it proves that my car sticks too the ground in the corners and thats why i can run a laptime like that , and in the other 2 cars i couldnt do that , and thats where they lost time too me , i am willing too bet that iff i could find a setup for those cars where they came round the corners faster i would beat my supra time , i will probaly get a little lower than this time i posted , - dont know iff you guys use a ds3 or a wheel , i must admit that iam happy that i got a wheel or else i couldnt do a laptime that fast ......i didnt add ballast too the brz , but i didnt try finding a setup that suited my way off driving , but its only my humble opnion offcourse , and i remember i have tryid thinking that i was wrong , but that was wrong hehe just kidding , offcourse my opinion isnt allways right , lucky me , life would get too boring then i think :)

A concern I have about these "findings" is that 1) Cars are balanced for the course of the season. I refuse to obsessively make car regs for each race. 2) Were the times ran on RM tires, which all cars are running on? 3) Are the cars tuned to a comfortably point. If any of those three were answered with "No", then the complaints about being underpowered will not be addressed.

i raced my stints on rm tires and the only 1 off the 2 cars thats not mine was "tuned" , used the seasonal setup and found out that iff finds the right setup i will be in BIG BIG trouble :) but as i allways have been told , practise makes "perfeckt" , 1 or 2 hours practise isnt enough in my world , but thats maybe because iam a slow learner , or m memory isnt that good anymore , thats what happends when u get a brain clot sadly ,- iam looking forward too the next race , its all about having fun for me and can i win , its just a bonus , offcourse i allways try too win , but it has too be an fair and clean win or else its no win too me , cu all later on

Tokyo FP1 is in an hour.

Tokyo FP1 has been cancelled. I have food poisoning and at the moment it hurts to even sit up. To make up for lost FP1 time, FP2 on Sunday morning will start at 11:00 a.m. EDT.
MAKE SURE YOU SET YOUR CLOCKS FORWARD AN HOUR FOR DAYLIGHTS SAVINGS TIME!!!

I shall attempt to attend however, I think that it won't be very representative as i am switching wheels for sunday's race so I expect to be a few tenths slower come race day due to adjustments with driving style and setup.

Nevermind, that just saved me the trouble. (Srry for the double post.)

Due to the GTPlanet 12 Hours of Bathurst and the ever near debut for the Audi WRS North America R18 at Silverstone, I will not be attending the race this Sunday.

Good luck to your team this weekend.

Thank you! I won't be driving but I will be on Skype with the team passing off information, crunching numbers, all of that cool stuff...
That's still an important job and it's cool that you're there for them. I'll be racing in GTPES eventually. And I hope to see you on track soon.

Awesome! Hope to encounter you on the track sometime. (Not really, LMGTE cars slow me down.) I might ask for a GT500 or LM P3 ride for fun but we will have to see.
I got into GTLM specifically for the longer endurance races. I think I've found where I race best, and that is in Super GT.

The season two calendar for the VRR Super GT Series will be revealed on March 31!

As for the race, any estimate about the fastest lap?

I'll do everything I can to be able to race, but nothing is sure.

Posting to restart notifications.

Tokyo still happening this week? Are you feeling well enough to run Angel?
