Vulcan - A new Aston Martin supercar

Aston Martin Vidiian?
They could have called it the Aston Martin Viagra.

But that would be redundant.

Further insider information has led to this target render:

Not fair - as soon as they go in a new direction, as with the DB10, they get criticised.

I'm all for new direction...heck the DP-100 was a good sign of their capabilities...but the DB-10's not a good direction to go for...

Looks a bit Vanquish-y from the back. The rear lights are almost certainly reminiscent of the DP-100.

Guess we found the detail that Aston took from their VGT; those tailights. I am eager to see the rest of the car, come on Aston, show me the goods. Sounds good too, that backfire from the exhausts...

Considering its name, the fire spitting seems appropriate.

And the name may also apply to the car's power delivery. Explosive and out of control, not to mention loud. You know, I think this car will be the Vanquish equivalent of the Ferrari XX program; a race car for Rich McJohnson and his bottomless wallet, that you can't really use on any specific racing category. Not that I hate such idea, mind you.

Maybe if you do some history into Gaydon you'll know where the name came from ;)

I think you partly missed my point, that people will still associate it with Star Trek even though the name has a much older meaning. Also you are assuming the car is named after the old Avro aircraft which was named after the god of fire and whatnot (which I am very aware of as I've seen it fly at Fairford, great stuff). Perhaps there's a nod to the Gaydon connection but I would've thought the car is named directly after the fiery god too. Could well be wrong though :)

Gaydon used to be a V-Bomber base.

Le Sigh. I know? My point was that people will associate it with...never mind. Also you could've just said that rather than "Maybe if you do some history..." etc. as that came across as a little patronizing, and presumptuous. Anyway I'm a lover not a fighter, onwards and upwards :)

Because there wasn't much "new direction" in the DB10. Fair enough, it's a movie product placement car so it didn't have to be; but let's not say that a V8 Vantage with a 90s American Concept Car filter applied to it is an earnest attempt at forging a new styling path for the brand before it's conspicuous product placement tie in film is even released.
