I did that b***c with the New beetle cup car. Tuned it almost to the maximum and still had trouble beating the opponents. Got the silver beetle as a prize, was hoping for a black one. But it's not that big of deal, just go through the pain again... :ouch:

okay, with suck overkill, you need to practice ur driving skills.

Guys, RSi is great car. I don't understand what are you whining about it. It drives like a dream, and I could even drift in some of the corners and still won easily.. The timing of braking is rather important with this car. Remember, it's still FWD-biased awd, just like Golf R32 or Audi A3 3.2 Quattro, since they all use haldex diff that sends torque to rearwheels only if the front wheels are slipping.. Which explains the poor handling when going to corners with full throttle.

I think most if not all Audis use the Torsen center differential.

And the Golf R32 uses the Volkswagen 4Motion and Audi uses Quattro. Different things. still, biased to the front. It's like a backward Skyline. So what I would do is get a VCD.

Just doing the Beetle cup. I think it sucks that you get R1 tyres when you buy the Cup car.... anyhow, I managed to win at Fuji with only stage 1 engine upgrade but Motegi is proving difficult (not doing the championship yet).

Ummm.. despite quattro-badge Audi uses Haldex in those cars that are based on Golf's platform, like TT and A3..

Dude. I hate flaming, but please know what you are talking about if you are gonna act all high and mighty. Quattro and 4 motion are the same friggin thing. All A4 chassis use haldex, and all B5 chassis use torsen. The TT, RSI, R32, A3 all use haldex. Take it from an owner... I also repair these cars

It's a great handling car, yes, but it's slooooooooow for all that power. Heavy, heavy, heavy! And it costs so much, it's ridiculous!

OK i know this is "OLD" but, has ANYONE won the BLACK VW Beetle 1100 Standard '49 in this Beetle Cup?? All i have been getting after 6 times is the silver one.

I've only won black Beetles...I've got two of them, matter of fact. wouldn't mind finding a silver one. :indiff:

On topic of this thread, it's awesome Old Geezer pwned all the kids in those first few posts with his RSi! :D:dopey: If you're around OG, hats off to ya!

Hiya Parnelli!!! Yep, I'm still alive & "Kickin'." Actually about to run this series again w/a Maxxed-Out RSi so I can post times @ a GT4 race database.
THANX 👍 for the compliment...O.G.

I wonder if anyone's done the Beetle Cup in a front-drive New Beetle. I can't remember if I've done this or not. I know I accomplished the Clio Sport Cup in a front-drive, though. Had to use a wing kit and racing tires (and a few other assorted parts) to do it, but it's certainly possible.

Absolute "Cakewalk"!!! Took HP "Out" (194 on replay screen) after the first race & still buried 'em. (I've recently done the Clio races w/a similar ride BUT much more HP, so used the same general chassis set-up.) This thing Drives GREAT & Pulls like a Train for having less than 200 HP. :) Think I'll take some more out & try it again since I got another BLACK Bug & still lack a Grey one...O.G.

Well...I DID tune a Karmann Ghia Coupe (Type-1) '68 for Tsubuka :scared: but only practiced with it. Could probably win there with a bit of Fender Rubbin'. Doubt it could win anywhere else w/only about 106 HP. Next time I have the PS2 on I'll try to remember to give it a shot...O.G.

P.S. I did just run the "New Beetle" again w/only 182 HP. Started last @ Tsubuka & managed to eek out a win by about 0.188, so a win from the front should take even less HP.

P.P.S. Even though the Karmann Ghia Coupe (Type-1) '68 is just a beetle w/a different body in R/L, PD won't allow it to run in the Beetle Cup!
NO way (at least w/Me driving!) the old Beetle can win here. :grumpy:
