:D Well hopefully :D

Have you ever...
  • entered a race and when the result are posted you think "Doh! I wish I had picked that car instead?"
  • found you have not got the time to practice and produce your best because of real life?
  • Imagined a race where the least mods could produce the winner?
  • wanted to enter a race with more than one car?
  • wanted to race with (almost)whatever you fancied?
  • thought "I'm good but not top class wish there was a race where I stand a really good chance of winning"?
  • and then thought: "better still If I could win without a handicapping system"?
  • prefered spot races to be tight with the AI ?
  • had a preference for real races of between 5 and 20 laps?
  • produced a lousy time and had an even lousier excuse?
Well if you answer yes to all or most of those then your at the right place.

The Idea is of my own thinking I don’t have a clue if it is original so I apologize in advance of someone saying it was done before by so and so. Actually I hope it has not as then if it becomes a popular event I will lay claim to being it’s creator. :) but if it is as popular as the Wolves are in West Bromwich then I shall simply say "Oh sod it, it was worth a try." :(

Anyways you want to know what’s the score dont yah? Carry on reading and you will soon get the gist of it.

The Competition
4 races over eight weeks..

W.O.L.V.E.S. #1
TIME : 19:20.000
RACE: Monte Carlo / Professional League / FF cars 10 lap race
PITSTOPS: Minimum of 1
GRID START: From the very back

Now go modify any non race bodied car that can be had be it a standard car or a prize one that qualifies for that race. (A Prize cars purchase price is 4 times its resale price.)

The winner will be the racer that finishes below the above time having spent the least money on buying and modifying his or her car.

Running Split tyres.. gonna be a sod on this one and count the price for both sorts used in the total spent.

In the event of two or more racers spending an equal amount then they shall be separated by their actual race times.

Series Winner will be crowned Chief Skinflint having spent the least on all 4 races.

There is no limit to the number of attempts nor the number of entries. Actually the more you submit the better as the information can be used in future races where the cars to choose from are equally tuned.

You can post whatever you wish in the thread however only the total spending is to be posted no breakdowns showing what was spent on what.

you know i'm in wity ;) i was hoping you'd post it here , hopefully get a good bit of interest

Q? : are you gonna be putting a list of all entrants on all the boards , definetly help to boost it .

well thought out event i'll e-mail when i am finished with race 1 which will be top of my list next weekend , laters mate ;)

Yeah I can do, problem I have tho is I aint up to par with website stuff like other guys so as in the 9 boards I am gonna be running around from site to site.

I really have no idea how popular this will turn out to be.

If it gets hectic I may resort to having a master thread I dunno as yet. Lets see how it goes.

Yep, saw this over at gt3times.... definitely count me in! You do really good challenges, Wity.

I'm going to have to do this race again. Tried to remember the race time we had to beat, and thought it was 19.000 minutes. Finally beat it cheaply... then discovered the time to beat was only 19.200 minutes. Krist, now I'm going to have to practically start over. Oh well, it's still fun.

I tried this out the other night , but can't seem to find the right car (at the cheapest price of course!) :( But i won't give up testing & will get back on it at the w/e :)
Funny feeling this is going to take me ages, thank god you've given us plenty of time to do this :D

One thing you will find doing this is that you will find horse power means very little if other components are lacking.
There is more than one way to skin a cat as they say. I very much doubt we shall see two identical set ups, and with what has been submitted so far I am seeing tens of thousands between drivers spending.

Wity - Sounds like an interesting concept you got there! Just one question about the 100% wall free part. If an AI car puts you into a wall and you dont gain anything from it does that count as a wall touch? Apart from that all sounds good.

Sign me up! ;)

Sorry guys another edit to the rules now made.....

No pitting allowed on the last lap

I hear if you do so on the last lap then the stop is shorter as tyres are not changed obviously this is not fair so please pitt before then.

What, don't you read your emails? Or do you want your praise to be public and to bask in the adoration of such a great challenge? Just in case some of you haven't tried this... it's one of the most comprehensive, enjoyable, interesting, well thought out, and nontime intensive challenges I have ever been a part. I give this a 5 star rating. And get this, every time I send Wity an email of my car, times, and credits used, I promise myself that that's enough... but I'm continuing to go faster and cheaper as I keep trying. Now, to me, it's a blast when a challenge just keeps getting better the more you play with it.

Sure gone quiet here ?

There's a few other comps. that are in mid season at the moment so most of the racers are tied up one way or another. Once the Midfield series here finishes you should get a few more people interested. I had a couple of attempts at this already but haven't been able to get under the time limit. Either I need to drive faster or spend a bit more cash on go faster mods.

I'm sure those that have so far took note of this series also know where else to look for the results as this is my last post on this board.
