Wallbanger's 2nd Annual FF Summer Shootout

I think my two tunes are ready actually, what sort of times are people running on the tracks?

The fastest Class A I've found does a 1:51.404 on Laguna, but the car behind it gets round Laguna 3 tenths faster. However the first car is just about fast enough on Toscana to beat it out overall. Did a 2:06.351 there. Tested 4 cars so far there, top 2 were very close obviously, while the other 2 were just good handling but not powerful enough to be fastest.

Class B, my fastest has done a 1:45.472 on Laguna and 2:01.952 on Toscana. Nothing has come too close to challenging it yet, but then I've only tested two other cars, and one of them was hopeless. The other was close on the track but rather out of league on the dirt.

I don't know which cars are elegible , mygranturismo doesn't show the ccs :/

Some cars tell you just from their name (Alfa Romeo 147 2.0 Twin Spark, Lupo 1.4, etc), some you have to guess, and others, you just pick up along the way.

Picked a car up from the UCD for class B (Not tested anything else yet.) and I've run a 1'45.2 at Laguna with slight tweaks to the alignment and tranny.

You could but the results won't count for determining the winners of this Shootout.

Remember also I will be dividing the tuners up into smaller test groups so if time is an issue you only need to test a group or two on both tracks for your results to be included and receive your Test Driver awards.👍👍
Ok, I wasn't sure if you'd be ranking the gravel and tarmac times separately or adding them together.

I'll have to see how the cars are on Laguna before I commit then.

Or you could just view the displacement in the stats on the top of the car before you buy it.

Spoon Today G! FTW!! :dopey:

Y'know, that is not a bad idea at this point.

Leaf doesn't have Engine Displacement :/

That's because it doesn't have one.

Added everyone who wanted in as tunas to the lists.👍👍

For those of you wondering how to find cars and their displacement it should be easy to do in your garage. Just bring up the page where you change into a selected car. On the right side it should have a column of stats for the car headed by Current Performance. The first listing below that is Displacement............9999cc or whatever the actual size of the motor is.
If the car doesn't have anything listed there it's probably either electric or else a concept car that didn't have engine specs released to the public.

Hi mate sorry my psn is OTS_NEWDRIVER2 . Not like your add it NEWDRIVER32

But the Honda theme has been a trope for the loser's trophy in shootouts. Can't remember who did it first though...IIRC it was Krenkme from the long ago classic shootout with a Honda Beat. I almost got that!

There are only prizes for 1st , 2nd and 3rd tuners :dunce:
No all tuners entering get either gear or paint their choice. Also the tunes that go to the final round earn their tuners a prize. The top three get larger prizes is all as befits their achievement. Also their are going to be several surprise bonus prizes awarded after round one is complete.:sly:

I like. :P
To publish or not to publish, that is the question...

We also got a Prius as a slowest prize ... I got one of those :).

I'm glad I started something that fun :dopey:

Okay so I'm looking through my garage and testing a few possible Class A entries and I find one I had previously tuned. Decide to give it a run, so after adding 200kg ballast and a bunch of power limiter its at 405PP. Hit Laguna Seca and cruising along feels pretty good but not a great lap then I look at the time as I cross the finish line and its almost six seconds faster than anything else I've tested so far! I'm thinking wow do I use this and hope that no one else finds it or ban it as unfair or...so after a couple more laps I go into the tune to make a couple adjustments to the tune...of course that's when I realize that the car has Sports Soft tires on it.:dunce::lol:
Changed to Sports Hard tires and it's still the fastest I've tested but not by very much and it has the benefit of a much more refined tune than the others I've tested.:drool:

Rather hard for people to commit to testing when I have yet to break the tuners up into groups. Currently looks like there will be 3 groups in each Class but hoping that we can get enough Tuners to make 4 groups of 6 like there was for the "Tons of Fun" Shootout.:D

Well I've managed to get down to a 1:47.8xx on Laguna Seca in a possible Class A entry.:D

Only question now is whether it can post a competitive time at Toscana...from what I recall the car had some issues when I tried running it on gravel in the past.

Edit: Test car had some stuff done to it I wasn't sure of so built a new car. Used the same tune and best lap for my Class A car at Laguna Seca is now down to 1:46.815:bowdown::gtpflag:

Now if I can just reduce it's love of drifting it will get really fast!
Yes I said drifting, currently if you don't get everything just so it will take pretty much all the corners on Laguna Seca sideways in fun and beautiful 4wheel drifts before powering on out onto the straights.

Hey guys please do me a favor. Since I'm handling all this with my cellphones web browser editing posts can be a real pain. If you do something like change your GTPlanet user name please send me a PM letting me know the old name so I have a better chance of keeping track of who is who and making the appropriate corrections.
