This is something that would interest me in a big way, if GT6 featured special events based on Best MOTORing. It would be so fun to recreate segments from the series. I was going to put this in the "Things You Want to See in GT6" Thread, but I'd like some of your opinions. What episodes or segments of Best MOTORing would you love to have in GT6 so you could be part of it?

Ones I'd love to see races from Type R Legend

Recreating the final battles in Touge Showdown series would be awesome as well

Of course things like EVO vs STi would be a must. Those are just a few I would like to have.

If they ever implement drifting events in the game, they can also have a drift school type of thing. Kind of like the Drift Bible where Tsuchiya can teach you the basics and advanced drift techniques. That could lead you into the Japan vs USA Drift Off.

I've never seen it and I suspect neither has the majority of the western world since it never had worldwide popularity like Top Gear.

I've always said they should have gone for some sort of BM partnership although I'm not even sure it still exists, haven't seen anything new from them for a while now.

We in Russia are very fond of Best Motoring!
I would really like to see these events in Gran Turismo 6!
You know, one of the issues I have seen BMI racing suit with stickers GT in one of the racers (Maybe Ohi, but I'm not sure exactly)!

BMI videos are available inside GT5 and few classic cars of the show are in the game. The partnership is there, but very lackluster.

It'd be much better if it includes a special event (with an intro to the show and hosts, and the scenarios), tracks (touge and that other one) and cars (japanese tuners, especially those that don't change the car interior entirely). If done properly it could be the Gran Turismo event (car variety) and also drifting (tsuchiya).

BM has been through some financial troubles recently, but there's tons of content really. The thing is there's Best Motoring International (with subtitles and different presentation. About 40 very long episodes I remember) and Best Motoring (tons of episodes, no subtitles, more japanese-like, harder to find for us westerns).

I have many american friends who are big fans of Best Motoring- which goes right along with the large, vibrant JDM-loving car culture here. Along with some wild automotive action and great camerawork, Tsuchiya is hilarious.

I am with the OP 110%. GT is the perfect place to create some Best Motoring events.

That would be because there's no comparison to Top Gear, and the entertainment value comes entirely from the cars and the drivers, i.e. the driving, not from a script, as such. That kind of means you have to be into cars for it to really appeal, which is not true of Top Gear (anymore).

You should check it out, it really is excellent with all the professional driver and tuner input, and the engineering focus.

I've seen most of the episodes and i'm from Canada :D I do hope there will be some tight touge-like tracks with certain car battles

really? it was extremely popular here in the US for JDM enthusiasts, i have many of the old DVDs, glad to see they have recently rebooted as well, the battles at tsukuba are legendary and would be a nice co-branding opportunity with GT.

In the GT3 days, it had widespread popularity in automotive (and Gran Turismo) forums. The popularity seemed to have waned since, especially after they went out of business a few years ago.

I have been into cars since I went to my first Indy 500 about 45 years ago and I have never heard of them.

I can't remember how I found out about BestMotoring. Used to have an S2K, probably through one of the S2K forums. Pretty entertaining, worth searching for. Love those touge battles too. I'd like to get those real life roads in GT someday.

I'm in california and have been following best motoring and Hot Version for a loooong time. Tsuchiya (the Host), Drifting and the Nissan GTR has a long history together.

How about Mount Akina as a DLC?

In terms of the general public you would be right, however every petrol-head should make sure they acquaint themselves with Best Motoring, it is a truly great video magazine (still the best way to describe it).

BM(I) style events would be a great addition to GT (or any racing sim for that matter), in particular the Touge events.

Yep. The focus is quite different: BM covers cars and racing on a straight to video format for enthusiasts, whereas Top Gear is a non-factual tv show for people that don't particularly like cars, even less try to learn about them.

In the end BM = real life Gran Turismo.

I think this is a key point, and why we haven't seen a bigger partnership between BM(I) and GT.

I suspect the overwhelming majority of GT purchases, each iteration, are from people who like cars in a general sense; enough to tune in to a show like Top Gear, but not invested enough in car culture to even be aware of BM, let alone follow it.
